Nice concept but cheaper slightly to buy on eBay, especially for less popular cards

  • @alex77 — PLEASE declare your affiliation properly.

    • Will do. Sorry, as I am new to ozbargain, I was not fully aware how it works. Will make sure I clearly declare my affiliation (I work for Cardlimbo) in the future.

  • Similar to Cardnap. The guy who started that is 15 and has already started up a couple of companies. Interesting read at NextWeb

When you do the numbers for these businesses, they are razor thin margins. Like the ideas but don't give them too much chance of survival. Sellers of Woolworth's (usually sells for face value) and Coles cards(4% or less) can do better on EBAY while buyers can do better with most other gift cards like Myer (10-15%). It is good in the buyer/seller prospective to have the middle man as it's 50/50 if the seller is fraudulent on EBAY.

  • It seems that there is only 1 of each card, because when you try to order 2 of the same item it says, "The maximum order level for this product is 1 item."

They probably only sell what people sell to them. This might be the reason for the weird amounts such as $61, $114, $181.

    • You are 100% correct. We (I am part of the Cardlimbo team) buy unwanted gift voucher from consumers and resell them to other consumers at a discount. Therefore, you can only purchase each displayed voucher once.

Each year, retailers pocket a lot of money as consumers let their gift vouchers expire unused. Our website aims to offer consumers choice and to eliminate this wasteful practise.

Ebay also offer a platform to sell and buy gift vouchers. However, there is quite a high fraud risk for buyers and sellers don't know how much cash they will end up with.

  • There was an identical site on the US version of the dragons den, the Shark Tank, which 2 of the sharks bought into, it was an american site called GiftCardRescue.com, they did like 120,000 cards a year lol
