Roaming - Best Way to Receive Calls in NZ.

WW global roaming is not bad http://www.woolworthsglobalroaming.com.au/Info/RatesCoverage… (its a different product from the domestic prepaid they have)
They get some bad reviews on ProductReview, but I have had no trouble overseas as long as you keep a note of the network partner for each country, and switch your phone to that network manually - doesn't always automatically.
Just buy a SIM there.
I got a free optus sim from airbnb that i will use.
But i must say optus is much expensive comparatively to prepaid vodafone. Amaysim has both qualities i mean cheap and expensive.
I ended up gettting a voip account before leaving. Diverted number to my voip number. And got a cheap sim here in NZ.
You didn't state how long you were going for but I think the Vodafone one would be the cheapest and easiest for most people. $40(90 minutes of calls to NZ numbers) or $50(for 1000 minutes to NZ numbers) for a month and to be able to use to receive calls and make unlimited calls/texts to Australia and 3GB/5GB of data is a great deal.
Vodafone $5 roaming is free in NZ.
