Anti rape swim wear recommend in Germany and Sweden.

    • -1

Someome neged ya… reality is all too much for some to handle.

      • +7

The reality of large numbers of German and Swedish women being raped on the beaches? Can't say I've heard about it but no doubt the PC mainstream media are conspiring to cover it up.

    • +1

      french should follow suit

    • Anti rape swim wear recommend in Germany and Sweden.

They're used to removing tents so this is just foreplay.

It's like a child removing the wrapping from their present.

  • +2

Must be heavy when saturated with water, not sure if it would help swimming or hinder.

    • +2

Could say the same about a wet-suit. It makes no difference, it will still be buoyant.

      • +2

Swimsuit is skintight and hugs your body and makes you more buoyant. This will trap water and do the reverse. There's a reason people take off their clothes when they jump in. Wouldn't have to with a swimsuit of course because unlike clothes it won't hinder your swimming.

        • THat's not how it works. I agree it will be harder to swim if it's loosely fitting, but it won't make you sink because it traps water. A bag full of water won't sink unless the bag itself is more dense than the water. The same applies to clothes.

        • +1

@Spam Service: hmm… if it slows u down in swimming, it makes you sink. at least your legs.

        • +1

@Spam Service: Have you wondered why competitive swimmers wear a suit (many wore full body suit until they were banned) instead of just trunks? Buoyancy is an advertised feature of these suits. It enhances performance and makes you glide through the water with less resistance. Try swimming with your clothes on (which is what these birkinis effectively are) and see if it makes a difference. According to you, it shouldn't.

    • -1

something filled with water doesn't make it harder to lift through water?

  • +6

might get popular after the Olympics. I remember seem a few using it on the beach volley. Might look like a long seal for a shark.

  • +38

Great Idea, I don't want any part of my female seen by any other male, I'll force her to wear one.

    • +5

have you asked the women who wear it? full of assumption about woman's own free will. why do you think nun wearing the same garment as Mary, mother of Jesus?

      • +15

You don't ask, you tell, if not you're doing it wrong.

So much PC these days ppl trying to tell ppl they cant tell their wives what to do.

        • isn't that the same thing that happen when you try to tell off your kids? even spanking or slap on the wrist is not acceptable. look how kids behave nowadays.

        • -5

you tell, but not forcing her.

        • +4

          @brongz:

But if you tell her, and she says no, you gotta force her anyway…may as well just force her to start with, they're good learners anyway and pick up on it pretty quick. I haven't had many problems with mine, like you say, similar to training your kids.

        • -1

@stonkered: hope the feminist not hanging around here reading your comment:)

        • @stonkered: Umm cant tell if you're being funny/sarcastic or serious? If serious, maybe your wife/girlfriend should force you to respect her and her decisions as an equal human being

        • +3

          @Lucky13:

My wives and girlfriends, plural, thank you very much.

        • +1

          @stonkered:

          Hence "stonkered"!

      • How exactly do you know what Mary wore ?

Copying someones clothing habits doesnt change you rown personal situation. Copying the t shirt that bill gates wore last night dosnt make me any richer.

More bullshit on top of other bullshit.

        • have you been to the catholic church lately? have you seen any nun in catholic hospital? why do they wear that veil?
have you seen any jew women few decades ago? why they cover their hair?

        • @brongz:

So much teasing brongz, just give us the answers!

        • @brongz:

I'm pretty sure that wiki page got that image from Dark Souls series.

        • @brongz:

Of course i know what a nun wears, and you are probably right implying the burka and nuns outfits do come from the same common ancient customs where women are second class citizens, where men want to "hide" women from other men. For whatever reason middle eastern religions including judiasm and christianity and islam are fascinated by things sexual perceived and otehrwise. Look at the bible, it says the jews were special and foreskins prove that.

    • +3

Great Idea, I don't want any part of my female seen by any other male, I'll force her to wear one.

You may as well fit her out with a tent when she's not at the beach.

      • +4

If you're going to go that route, a bed sheet with some eye slits would be more cost effective and practical.

        • +6

Casper is cute, let's not ruin my memories of him.

        • @Maverick-au:

Pro tip: don't use white, go with something brighter, makes it easier to keep an eye on her.

  • +35

I came here just for the comments…. not dissapionted :)

  • +9

anyone been to a burkini comp?

    • +37

I have. In my defence I did think it was a curtain sale.

      • +16

I have. In my defence I did think it was a curtain sale.

I walked into a shop in Europe, saw what I thought was the change room and pulled the curtain to the side to find out there was a woman underneath! I don't know who was more surprised but I now have a fear of change rooms and tents.

      • Can't upvote enough.

    • Only 10?? How many have you left to go?

    • +3

You must be in a Mental Ward by now if you have 10 wives. They would've driven you to insanity unless you are some type of a super human.

      • +1

I am some type of super human!!

    Racism at its finest.

    Cultural tolerance my arse.

    I'm truly ashamed.

And here's me thinking this is the place for bargains.

Thanks for showing your true colours.

    • +6

Don't worry mate we're not all like this. Personally I find it sad that this many people gain pleasure from disrespecting the beliefs of others. It's quite sadistic really.

      • +3

Yes the beheading , rape and stoning should not be allowed!

      • +2

There's nothing wrong with disrespecting certain beliefs.

        • +11

Every time I see someone playing racism card on people disrespecting certain belief and/or ideology, I find it insulting.

        • Surprisingly I don't find hurting people that don't deserve it entertaining. But whatever floats your boat.

          @kahn:
Aww poor you. Not fun to be disrespected is it?

        • How about we end this pointless conversation and focus on the bargain at hand. OzBargainers should be respectful to each other in discussions.

      • Sadistic? LOL. A bunch of people arguing about who's got the best imaginary friend.

    • +4

I'm not surprised. They reacted in a similar manner to the offer of free rainbow shoelaces. So full of hatred at people who have done nothing to deserve it.

      • +4

I hate everyone equally, if that makes you feel any better…

        • But some are more equal than others (Animal Farm)

        • +3

          Well done you!

Hopefully you are representative of a tiny sample (although, probably not, based on the nonsense presented on this thread) of the thinking members of OzB.:(

        • @jackspratt: ppppppfffffftttttt tiny sample - c'mon FESSS UP EVERYONE! Tell us your ethnic!

    • I'm not racist. I'm religiophobic

  • These appear more stylish than the standard stinger suits we have to wear in Cairns during stinger season…well at least for women.

  • +16

    (profanity) hell… These comments…
    Really guys? Really??

    • +5

yeah sheesh, kinda wish i didn't open this thread.. didn't need the reminder of what demographics the OzB community appears to be predominantly made up of

    • +5

Why not? Nigella Lawson wears one and gets roundly mocked on front page news. Speedos are our national swimwear and are fodder for mockery by everyone and all. We encourage it. A man voting in speedos made international news in jest. Did you genuinely open this page to buy a bargain burkini or to contrive knowing feigned indignation? Sorry, but seeing someone dressed like Mawson of the Antarctic on a hot sunny beach to protect the viewer from themselves is a little insulting itself.

  • +17

Just FYI, these things are black for our benefit…I was at the beach a few years back when a very overweight Arab woman in a white cotton moo-moo & hijab decided to take a dip; we all know what happens to wet white cotton visually, now don't we…and let me assure you, the optional underwear box was not ticked that day.

I swear I thought I'd turn into a pillar of salt if I looked at the sight for too long! :/
