As the title says, anybody got the notification for update yet? Google started rolling out Nougat on the 22nd, I'm hoping Nexus owners would get it in a matter of days?
Cheers!

Mate of mine with a 6P received the update yesterday. I'm running a custom rom on my 6P so I won't get it OTA.
really? OTA or was he enrolled in the Android Beta Program?
Only just got marshmallow last week on my Telstra S5
Ah I'd lol if it wasn't so stupid!
pat pat ;) Sammy's like that I hear
got it yesterday morning, was on DP5 previously. If you enroll in beta program now, should be able to get it immediately.
Nexus 5x here. I was also enrolled in the Beta Program, on DP5, and received the Nougat release version yesterday morning. ~58Mb download from memory, though obviously DP5 was much larger.
thanks guys, just got enrolled to beta and the update pops up immediately, awesome :D
I'm waiting for the update for my Nexus 6 but don't want to enroll in the beta program because I read that it wipes data. I want to sideload the update!
Actually no, when you enrol for the beta program now, the update they offer is 7.0 Nougat which is a stable release. There disclaimer states "You are about to unenroll this device from the Android Beta Program. If your device is running a beta version of Android, it will be sent an OTA update that will wipe all data on the device and install the latest stable public version of Android."
Since it's not running a beta version, nothing will be wiped. I know cz I just unenrolled after updating to Nougat :D
I'll probably avoid it due to it breaking half the stuff I like to do like use my sd card how i want etc. :p
Well, avoid it for 2 years when the next version is released :)
oh well, I don't have a SD card ;)
I hope no one gets a sour nougat
I have it as well. Everything seems to be good right now.
Highly recommend adding Night Mode, it's a quick install and no root required:

Why doesn't everyone with the same device get it at the same time? Android seems like a joke in this regard? Windows doesn't slowly trickle out updates.
Well people with the same device will get it roughly at the same time give or take a few days. And this is what Windows also does.
Can you manually request an OTA update or do you have to wait?
If the manufacturer releases the update before you receive it you can.
I use a Nexus and manually load the updates before it's pushed to my phone by Google/Telstra.
When it came to the Windows 10 update, Microsoft did exactly that. Many of the Nexus updates are using mobile connections for the data and Google are not quite arrogant enough to swamp the links, even for small things like giving everyone an unrequested album.
Yet to receive it on my 6p
just enroll into the Beta Program and the update pops up immediately :D
The nexus 6 seems to be the holdout, with many of us still on the beta, however it is one of the oldest units getting the update. For those not sure, the battery life on mine went from 1 day to 3 days with the same usage, so it is worth it for that even ignoring all the permissions control and split screen improvements.
really? that's rad :-o
How old is the Nexus 6?
@fruit: October 2014, tho I got mine in the JB EOFY clear-out a few weeks back:-)
Following Nexus devices are the first one's to be supported for this update:
Nexus 6
◾ Nexus 5X
◾ Nexus 6P
◾ Nexus 9
◾ Nexus Player
◾ Pixel C
◾ General Mobile 4G (Android One)
