Thought someone would have posted this but seeing as no one has I thought I would.
Sale is for today only. There's about 100 left as I write.

Well I just thought I'd post. Considering that over 100 have already sold in the past 14 hours, obviously people are interested. I figured I'd just give the ozbargainers a heads up if they haven't seen it…
I've been waiting to pounce on a bargain netbook, so my question was completely genuine and definitely not a criticism!
Like just about all the site regulars, I really do appreciate the time and trouble everyone takes to post the various real deals.
Oh ok, sorry about that.
I think the main attraction would be the brand, build quality and warranty. You can probably find similar specced netbooks from Asus or Acer but having owned a Dell and currently owning an Asus laptop, I can tell you that you will get better support from Dell (in my experience). Also build quality is generally better if you go with a Dell. Again this is from my own experience. The main attraction with the other brands is that usually they're cheaper than Dells. Which is why I posted this deal as it's a Dell but it's going for this price.
I've seen some of those Acer models on display at stores and I personally find them horrible..build quality and aesthetics wise.
@manbearpig: Thanks for the heads-up. Makes good sense.
all pretty much the same
all have simialr harddrive, ram
use similar chips
point of difference is mainly in the screen
the brand
and the battery (this is a 6 cell one)
some recent acer ones were 3 cell ones
I wouldn't touch an Acer with a 10 foot pole…ugly and poor build quality…but that's just me..
i don't like windows starter
i don't like 11g
besides that the price is nothing special
Can it play 1080p or 720p mkv's? WITHOUT skipping?

Have a look at this thread about it.
hmmm
this is the 2nd gen Atom so in theory it can do it… you probably will need to play around with effiicient codecs
2nd gen Atom (N450 etc.) needs the broadcom crystal hd decoder card to be able to accelerate flash and hd videos.
Dell netbook is also fame for being the most compatible Hackintosh netbook out of the box.
Why does it say you cant upgrade to 2gb or more of ram? Is it soldered on?
I think the seller just means that they can't be customised/upgraded like you usually can do on the Dell site. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.
That would make sense. I hope it can be upgraded as thats the easiest way to boost performance after tweaking the software.
I just messaged the seller and he says he believes that it's physically not possible to add more RAM. Must be soldered on or something. That's a bummer
Remember as well if you are a member of the velocity rewards program you can earn velocity points on this through the shopandearn store..
There is a model of the mini 10 that had the cpu and 1Gb memory soldered in so no upgrading with standard laptop ddr2 memory. I've heard of a Dell replacement daughterboard with 2Gb onboard but its probably more than the netbook. This deal looked great until I saw the "not upgradable". As a long standing mini 9 owner who upgraded the memory to a 2gb and saw an enormous difference in the multitasking performance (great on Window 7 ultimate) its a show stopper.
Totally genuine question.
Why is this netbook any better than other similarly specced netbooks hovering around about the same price?
