230

The whole fry's range is on sale at coles starting tomorrow. (thanks sage)

The schnitzels are great in vege-burgers.

we have them once a week or so. Usually $6.60 so, for $3 a box, I'll be stocking up.

Golden crumbed schnitzels made from our famous chunky vegetarian protein.

the Quorn products at the same price are a good deal for today.

Quorn products also have egg in then so not ideal for 'stricter' vegetarians or vegans.

Worth mentioning it's the whole range on sale.

I prefer Fry's over Quorn as there are no animal products used with Fry's products from my experience.

I buy Fry's (since I am vegan), however Quorn has just released vegan schnitzels and nuggets at Coles and they are $3.10 this week (may end tonight).

      • I was so excited to try the Quorn (non) chicken nuggets but they were disgusting :(

        • I've been vegetarian for over 20 years. i bought some of Quorn (non) chicken nuggets last week just so I could make them for my 2 meat eating children and then say "oh, those smell good" and pop one in my mouth.

shame they are disgusting. I'm not a fan of Quorn. their patties are reasonable but their other products just don't hit the spot for me.

        • Thanks for the warning, I won't bother getting any.

        • @luztra: tried the nuggets. they were fine. (my kids freaked out when I ate one, and then went back for a second). i'd give the nuggets a 6 or 7 out of 10. nothing great but not bad. I fried them in olive oil. had them with sweet chilli + mayonaise (always a winner). my kids said they were ok.

          would buy them again.

        • @altomic: thanks for the update.

  • Never tried frozen burger before but this time i got the Tassal Salmon Burger patties from coles was half price at $4. It tasted bad so im bit unsure about any frozen patties: (

these are vegetarian. very different to "dead animal flesh" patties. For $3 they are definitely worth a try. Fry them in a little olive oil and have them with lettuce, cheese, mayonaise, sauce in a lightly toasted bun. -good. (I sometimes add a fried egg, or chargrilled eggplant, oil fried sliced onions).

Yep bake or fry they are great, but fried is much better and you get the crispiness which adds some nice texture. Their nuggets are also yummy.
