GOOD PRICE! Looked at these for similar features but ended up with the Denon AVR-X3200w as having previously had both brands (and onkyo) I have always rated the EU brands over yamy's. Also the addition of MultEQ XT is nice :)

Anyone wanting to price match my price I picked it up for 1350 @ Videopro can post receipt if wanted!

    • You rate Onkyo and Denon over Yamaha, aren't all three japanese brands?

      • Hilariously yes japanese, wow schooled cheers! but still rate them over yamy products for sure!

Japanese brand but most likely made in China like most other stuff is. So the only thing Japanese is the brand name.

It's a generalisation but broadly speaking from what I've read Yamaha > Denon >> Onkyo in recent times particularly for music (apparently). New Denons including the one mentioned above are however right up there among the better mid range receivers.

Anyone interested in a great buy might want to consider the Yamaha refurbs at Excelhifi.com.au. Don't always have stock but huge savings can be had. Good feedback on the product. Bought my Aventage RX A2050 there at 40% off retail (discounts on this range are rare and tight if you manage to find them).

  • Eastwoodhifi actually have this same unit for $1599 (http://www.eastwoodhifi.com.au/clearance.htm).

I'm looking for an AVR with pre-outs (front L/R only) in this price range… leaning towards this unit or the Denon AVR-X3200w. :-/

    • They have the RX-V1081 for that price.

The one in the post is the RX-V2081.
