why dont you just link the deal on his post?
Save $18 and do it yourself, African Kids dont need helping

    • +3

They probably don't provide a sim either.

      • +4

Why would you get SIM. He probably inboxes everyone the same logon. Surprised Broden didn't think of it first.

    • -2

Tell me about it. Government gives sudos government housing and plenty more. Wish my government looked after me as well as it is them. Brand new houses rented at $80 a week on Pakenham just across the road. Ridiculous.

  • +17

I'd like to know more about this supposed $20 donation because it sounds like he's pulling a George Costanza 'The Human Fund' scam

    • +4

haha love the human fund. definitely sounds dodgy

  • +1

You sure this isn't a SCAM?

  • smells scammy

  • +7

Standard scam with an aussie twist. I wouldn't worry too much, these sorts of scams have a low hit rate and $20 isn't so bad for those who fall for it. If he wasn't selling free wifi he'd be selling the secret DIY mcflurry hack.

    • +1

      Its an annually recurring payment.

  • +4

I would like to know how they came up with "save $380". Also wow it says Optus but he is connected to Telstra Air, he must be a hacker???

    • +1

      Haha

  • +5

24Hour Wealth Coach, Business Coach, Economist, Health Professor, International Speaker, Best-selling Author, Binary Sexologist,

Health Professor without a university degree. Seems legit

      Binary sexologist?! What?

If he was such a successful 'wealth coach,' he'd take some of his own advice and maybe afford to make better home videos. It looks (and sounds) like he's filming inside a broom closet.

        • omg YES

  • +5

Hah, looks like someone posted a link showing source from OzB in the comment section.

Wonder how the 'wealth coach' will weasel out of that.

    • haha awesome

  • +1

    That's despicable.

I'll do it for a much more reasonable donation of $18 per annum. And I even deliver a bonus hour of wealth coaching. Every day. That's 4% extra absolutely free!

But you must call within the next 30 minutes.

    Sincerely,

    Peterpeterpumpkin ~ 25HourWealthCoach

  • Enjoying some of the comments linking to the ozbargain post on his page. RIP

    • How do I see them?

      • +1

It was there before, seemed he didn't like it and deleted it.

  • -5

New to capitalism are we? ;)

  • Is this a real charity or just some way of him funding trips for himself to Africa?

    • +1

      More like trips to Hawaii

    • +5

Now he is claiming the $20 is tax deductible, he doesn't even list an ABN so you can check if they have deductible gift recepient status.

      • Dodgyyyyyyy

    • Finding trips to taihiti ;)

  • +1

    Geez, what's the problem?

He's only embracing the values espoused by our dear PM: innovation, agility and entrepreneurism :P

  • +1

Now wants people to invest $250000 into a film he is making 😭

  • +5

Commented on his post that it's free on OzBargain. Sent me this message:

Mate if you have issue with me, or with giving to African orphans, pls take it up with me personally and don't call me names in front of my group.

I've sponsored 180 000 kids on Africa, and you're taking food from their mouths when you open yours and badmouth me.

Think about who you're hurting before trying to "help"

    Jeremy

lol. I'm going to tell this guy that this is complete bull sh!t.

    • +4

Haha classic! 180,000 seems like a lot of people to help by running a scam built on an ozbargain freebie

      • +6

Yeah, must have scammed a lot. Sent him this response:

What *******. Scamming is scamming for a good cause or not. Also have you heard of plagiarism (https://www.wordnik.com/words/plagiarism). Credit where you find your ***** from. Your 'group' deserves to know that this is free elsewhere and that you are complete *****. I know who I'm hurting: your bank account.

        His responder

        without prejudice

        Mate can you prove plagiarism?
I take that allegation seriously, as I am an author of several books and hundreds of articles.

Just because you disagree with someone, doesn't mean you are right, and doesn't mean you can insult them in a public forum.

I am sure you will see products advertised on TV for $29.95 that you know you can get elsewhere for $10 or less… that's called the "free market economy". Don't hate the player, fix the game.

BTW — I can prove that I have helped 180 000+ kids in Africa.
This is because I don't complain about others, I take action.

If you insult me online it is a criminal offence ( libel) ; and I will take action on that also.

Thanks for your views, and thanks for sharing with me
None of this is suitable for public view, and I see no point in continuing the conversation in public or in private

        My response:

Could you send me the proof?

        Will see what happens ;)

        • +5

"Don't hate the player" far out this guy is a snake. He has gone from clearly profiting and taking advantage of people to a using you of criminal behaviour?!?! Wtf.

        • +4

And what's with the 'without prejudice' crap?!

        • +3

@Bellpop: I think if someone puts that in their email or letter you can't use it in a legal context or some such crap. I haven't seen it used for ages so don't quote me.

          Without prejudice. :P

        • +4

Libel isn't a recognised action in Australian tort law anymore ;)

and prefacing your letter 'without prejudice' isn't like calling barley's against legal action.

  • +4

    This is getting intense haha!

  • +4

Clipit, be careful, this dude can pull people out of fictional studio audiences even when he doesn't have enough chairs, so the studio audience guy is forced to sit on a coffee table, whilst some woman with MRI powers does x-rays on him. I don't think you want to mess with this guy

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LYpHaHwIig

    • +2

lol, ha ha. I'll be careful.

    • +2

Dave just rides it out on the coffee table even though he's no longer needed. Wtf this clip is gold

      • +1

yeah, they should've just thrown a green blanket over him when they were done with him so he'd become one of those blue pillars in the background

        • +2

          Haha

  • +6

Blocked my FB account from commenting on his post. Used my 2nd account and spammed the comments.

  • how can this guy got so many testimonials on his stuffs? make it look so true…

he got that 21st century guy jamie mckintyre on his show as well. lol

  • +2

because what other guy is giving away the secrets to a 1$ breakfast? he's a true ozbargain hero

    • +3

Not ti be superficial or anything… but that's not the kitchen of "wealth coach"that I'd trust :D

    From my other FB account:

Hi Jeremy, I want to donate to your great cause but before I donate I just want to confirm wether you can make the donations tax deductible. Please don't take this as I think your scamming me or something but could you send me your ABN just so I could be sure. Cheers, ClipIt.

    • +2

      hahaha he'll never suspect!!

    • +1

      Response:

Will send a receipt to your email with full details

      • +1

damn…. now you have to pay to see if it's legit!

        • +1

          double scam! the ultimate scam

  • +2

Everyone go and like this comment!

  • +3

    This is extracted from site:http://www.choosemycoach.com/

    Apparently these are his qualifications:

Dr Jeremy Britton, DFA, SA(Fin) AAHA DPH DD

Does anyone know what they mean? lol

    • +1

That means he thinks he's very clever.

    • +1

      Dr haha Seriously?

  • +2

"Creator of “Flick Your Rich Switch Technology ®” and “Binary Sexology ®“, Jeremy has been featured on radio in NYC, USA, Australia & Africa, has appeared on four Australian TV networks and many newspapers and magazines."

NYC AND the USA?! Incredible. Africa too, wow! That's a great joint for wealth coaches…

  • +2
  • +1
    • lol

  • SO can anyone actually prove he ISN'T donating to charity?

    • +1

He claims that his "donations" are tax deductible but doesn't provide an ABN. He is obviously dishonest so it is very probable that he is being dishonest about donating to charities.

Actually he donates all his money to a very poor man named J. Britton.

      • +1

Its not tax deductable if you recive anything in return… By making you donate to find out he makes it not tax deductable, why are you bothering. All who touch fire get burned, you will lose your iq. Without prejudice

    • +1

from what I can see he has some kind of link to an organization called "B1G1"…. they claim to help a kid from as little as $0.01USD… so I suspect his claims of helping 100 kids here or there, is a $1 donation? Does anyone know anything about "B1G1"?

      • +2

So a $20 scam could help 2000 kids? He sent me a link to B1G1.com on FB but my browser told me it was a phising website.

        • +2

yeah it sounds that way, plus you have to pay 400USD to be a partner business according to the website, so thats what, 40,000 kids before he even starts re-selling ozbargain deals

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B1G1

  • +7

    Me:

Hi Jeremy, I want to donate to your great cause but before I donate I just want to confirm wether you can make the donations tax deductible. Please don't take this as I think your scamming me or something but could you send me your ABN just so I could be sure. Cheers, Peter
    ?

    Jeremy:

Will send a receipt to your email with full details

    Me:

could you just give me your ABN number. It can't do any harm and I just want to check that this legit.

    Jeremy:

Google me. You'll see how legit I am

    Me:

Couldn't I just have the number?

    Jeremy:

I don't have time to play games with you

    Me:

How am I playing games? I just want to see your ABN number.
    ?

    Jeremy:

I don't need your money that bad to deal with someone who doesn't trust me and can't google

    Me:

The poor children need money that bad though.
    Don't you are for them?
    I want to help.

    Jeremy:

    Then google me
All I want is some proof. If you can give out tax deducible payments then you must have an ABN. How hard could it be to send it to me?

    Jeremy:

    And have some faith
Can't be bothered playing games on Sunday
    How is this a game.
why can't you send me your ABN?
    ??

    Jeremy:

    Forget it. Donate somewhere else.
I hear World Vision funds both orphans and terrorists 😝

    Me:

    where did you hear that?

    • hahaha

    • +1

'where did you hear that?' bahaha

  • +2

looks like he's also the leader of……… ISIS???!?!?

    http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/a-religion-with-no…

    • +3

      International Self-Improvement Society Church

      lol

      FaceBook page

Turns out he has an ABN after all

      • +7

But that ABN is not entitled to receive tax deductible gifts.

      • +1

hey ClipIt, I think I found his 'true' ABN for his 24hourwealth coach 'business'

        link to comment

I made a visual on how I figured it out

    • +1

haha OMG where did u find that. one minute he's claiming world vision gives money to terrorists, the next minute he started isis

  • +4

Some dude named Joel Menich asked "Its the $20 donation tax deductible?", and Jeremy's reply was "Of course mate"

So I asked in the comments "is the $20 donation actually tax deductible? I couldn't find the ABN anywhere on his website, nor on the ABN Lookup"

He deleted my comment and gave no reply.

  • +1

from his ISIS website- there's a comment from a follower of his church, it says "I sincerely thankyou for this opportunity.. i feel free! and i feel particularly honored as i named my now 6 year old daughter ‘Isis’ and i am so very grateful there is such a beautiful church sharing this extraordinarily beautiful ancient name…..blessings xx"

  • Just sent mr jeremy a link to this thread.

  • +4

This is from the ATO (https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/income-and-deductions/ded…)

You can only claim a tax deduction for gifts or donations to organisations that have the status of deductible gift recipients (DGRs).

Deductions for gifts are claimed by the person that makes the gift (the donor).

For you to claim a tax deduction for a gift, it must meet four conditions:

    1) The gift must be made to a deductible gift recipient. We call entities that are entitled to receive tax deductible gifts 'deductible gift recipients' (DGRs).
    2) The gift must truly be a gift. A gift is voluntary transfer of money or property where you receive no material benefit or advantage.
    3) The gift must be money or property, which includes financial assets such as shares.
    4) The gift must comply with any relevant gift conditions. For some DGRs, the income tax law adds extra conditions affecting the types of deductible gifts they can receive.

    Please note at point #1 & #2

So if you are going to "donate" $20 to his thing, you cannot claim tax deductible anyway because you are receiving a 'material benefit or advantage' by him 'giving' you access to Telstra's free wi-fi.

So Jeremy is bullshitting on 2 counts that your donations are tax deductible: 1) Can't/Won't provide ABN so that we can check eligibility and; 2) You are receiving a benefit or exchange in return, so it is not truly classified as a true donation/gift.

Please explain Jeremy, or should I say Dr. Jeremy Britton. I believe your qualifications (DFA, SA(Fin) AAHA DPH DD, whatever they mean) and your boasts about knowing the laws you can provide us with some answers.

    • +3

haha. Maybe someone should write to ACCC about Dr. Britton.

    • +1

      your sleuthing is amazing

  • +9

    Somebody's reported this thread:

    1 for Illegal/Inappropriate

please don't remove this mods, this isn't illegal this is just discussing illegal stuff.

  • +10

Why remove this thread?! this is ozbargaining at its best. debunking a scam. this sort of thing belongs on 'the checkout'.

  • +2

Apparently he is legit, just really unethical and up himself.

    http://www.smh.com.au/small-business/startup/stress-death-an…

    • yeah many on here are defaming him which is by itself unethical

      • +1

True, thats point of my post.

Unless people dont have much trust in smh and carry on with this topic.

Maybe he does donate to the children of Africa with his "smartly" acquired money lol. Nonetheless it baffles me how he keeps refusing tonprivde abn, is it that hard to do? Or he truly thinks fraud can be done with his abn alone.

He does pose himself to seem dodgy at best and a dodgy smartass at worst haha.

        • If he's actually donating the money or not he's still being dishonest claiming the donations are tax deductible.

        • +1

          @TheClipIt: True

I wasn't delving into that too much. I was just lookinng to see if this guy is just not some blatant scam and found that smh article. Figured i would post for everyone.

Besides we still not sure that it is not tax deductible.

Banning of people accounts from his page is somehow telling thougj

    • Do you mean real, not legit?

  • +5

Hey guys, I think I actually found his ABN. It's a big chance that it is evidence

And in the end, not entitled to receive tax deductible gifts.

    • +1

that's some fine detective work :D

    • That is honestly pretty impressive work, NitNav. Wow!

    • Nice, leaked it in the end. Very dishonest. Someone please report him.
