I'm wanting to book a night in hotel in Sydney in October 2016. Is it cheaper to book now, or wait for last minute?
When Is It Cheapest to Book Accommodation? Early or Last Minute?
Comments
Book directly with the hotel. Most of the time they are happy to price beat last minute
id say earlier. If you can find a place that doesnt charge you if you cancel then you can always pay now, and keep an eye on the price and if it drops, cancel and book again.
I would say Earlier as well.
We don't get access* to last-minute bargains you hear about in the UK/USA unfortunately.
I work in a Sydney hotel and I can tell you 6 months plus gets you cheapest Price, also booking directly with the hotel. They should match any Price you find online if you tell them.
thank you all, I took your advice and booked online, with free cancellation if something better comes along. Price was cheap, compared to other places, and location is brilliant for my needs. Thank you
Which hotel, and did you book direct? Some of the savvy travellers here may find a better deal for you.
Hubby is going to a seminar and I got him 1 night walking distance away for $100, so he is happy. Its only 1 night, so he will stick with this booking I'd say, and thank you for the offer though.
However, We are going to Sydney June next year for 4 days, so if you see any accommodation around Wynard that is quiet, clean, and on a really good special, I'd love to hear about it. We have a year till then, so will keep an eye on specials for then.
I'll say in between. Too early better deals may come up. If you are late they know you are desperate and jack up the price.
Earlier, because I've watched prices just go up and up and up over the months. And for some reason, when you call up and offer $100 on a $300 room that day, hotels laugh in your face…
I would say that if the hotel is popular you may not get a chance to book last minute.
