Need advice on eBay problem with 'Fathers Day 50% off Final value fees" promotion

I got an email from Ebay about a 50% off final value fees Fathers Day promotion
It also showed up on the Ebay main page www.Ebay.com.au
You have to click to accept , which I have done, if I click again it says I have already accepted.

I listed several fairly expensive items in response to this offer.
First one sold and I check the fee and there was no 50% discount so I contacted the online chat for help.

I was told that they logged into my account and it didn't show in the promotion list so it wasn't for me and I must have tried someone elses email invitation.
I explained it was on the main page as an advertised offer , I had accepted and completed the terms and that Ebay could not renege on that offer at this point.
The chat person just kept saying it wasn't for me and that was why I was getting and error.
I explained that there was no error, It was on my logged in Ebay page right now, That I could click on it right now and get a message saying I was registered for the offer. And I could send screen shots to the ACCC for proof if I needed.
My offered accepted page suddenly changed to a message that said I was ineligible for offer while I was refreshing. It seemed to me they must have changed something in my account as we spoke so I couldn't take the screenshot which if true I think is very unethical.
They then told me they checked and I hadn't been sent an email so was ineligible (I have the email).
I asked several times to be referred to a supervisor and was told no.

Thanks for listening to my rant, any advice?

Sounds like a "nobody was here and no-one said anything" thing.

    I received this email too.
Check the email again. In the footer of the email, there's this:

eBay sent this message to Johnny Snow (Johnny's eBay Shoppe).
Your registered name is included to show this message originated from eBay. Learn more.

eBay International AG sent this email to you because your Communication Preferences indicate that you want to receive General Email Promotions.

If that was sent to you, it would have your name on it. There's all the proof you need that it was sent to you. You have numerous ways to prove that name is yours… your Paypal account, your addressbook, your direct debit details… they have that on file already.

    • Cool, yep all my details right there.

I also got this offer in my eBay inbox. http://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/promo/103463
I accepted the offer but I don't think it's working properly because normally it would then show up in the promotional offers section at the bottom of your selling summary page.

Maybe try again and hopefully you'll get someone that is not a moron.

    • Cheers, good advice. Better for me too to just feel sorry for an idiot rather than angry at an a-hole.

I am having a similar issue with their last promotion. Still not been resolved.
I have lots of screen shots.

I really find it a bait and switch scam.

I just can't figure out why EBay doesn't just fix the issue when you catch them out. I am going to contact them one last time before I escalate the issue. It is pretty shitty, I am only out of pocket $100, but wasted a lot time trying to fix their issue.

    • Time is the thing that pees me off with these issues as well.
So many times you end up spending many hours over weeks trying to fix stupid issues.
Too often a businesses main customer resolution seems to be to make it that painful that you go away.

    • Which one was that?

I'm waiting for my free promoted listings up to $5000 refund but the T&C's say the fees will be credited back within 90 days. The promo only ended last month so I'm giving it some time.
