Massage Seat Cover Thoughts

Dear ozbargainers,

I have tried the massage chairs at harvey norman and looking at buying the Beur massage seat cover - 3d shiatsu. A decent massage these days cost around $50. I thought a few massages would pay of the hefty price of the massage seat cover which is $370.

Any had experience with massage seat covers in general and can give any thought on whether its worth it?
Also anyone tried the Beur massage seat cover?

You get a bit tired of the mechanical routine always targeting the same spots in a pretty average way. It's not the same as a human doing it and I don't think you can say you've made a saving after 370/50. I stayed at a hotel that had a premium $5000 massage chair. After about a week I no longer had the urge to use it.

Sit on the massage chair for over 15mins and it gets itchy because keeps doings the same spots over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over

  • My advice if you are shopping for a massage seat cover is to try AS MANY models as you can since each is designed for a different body weight, body type, seat shape, etc.

Also keep in mind that a lot of seat covers will break and stop working after a certain number of uses.

I haven't found an affordable massage seat cover that offers a full back massage and is pleasant. Instead, most are so painful I get a pinched nerve in my neck.

For my skinny and boney frame the features that never cause discomfort are the vibration and heat features. Its more beneficial and enjoyable to spend $30 on a heat pack and self massage my own neck+back. I've never been able to fall asleep on a massage chair/cover.
