Thoughts on New Kia 2016 Cars

The new kia cars look soo aesthetically amazing. Anyone have thought on the new kia. I drove behind onetoday and the brake lights are soo large. Also I thinks it's a korean car, which shows Koreans are evolving in the design of their cars. Any thought on kia new cars

  • I haven't checked out Kia cars, but I have heard they have come a long way in recent times. A huge plus is that they come with a 7 year warranty. This would give you peace of mind. It's great value if you don't suffer from badge snobbery.

  • Kia has come a long way in their build quality of recent years and they back it with a 7 year warranty. I would like to see the likes of BMW have enough faith in their quality control to offer a 7 year warranty.

PS. I owned a BMW about 10 years ago. Problem after problem is all I had. Got rid of it just after warranty expired as I didn't want the hole in my pocket.

  • Yes they come with a 7yr warranty, but don't let that be the only thing that pulls you into 1 of their cars.

  • I have had a few korean cars. Each generation of car is a step up. I'd have no reservations about buying another one (unless I had won the lottery and was looking for a gtr lol).

    • GTR is a great car but a lottery win (assuming 1st division) means a Maserati in my life.

  • I have a 2016 Kia Sportage CRDI -awd, the diesel pulls like a train and has been a great replacement for my last Ford Territory. Only drawback in that change is a smaller luggage area but, that's part of the package!.

I have been very pleased so far, and the recent JD Powers USA report of initial quality had Kia topping the list over Porsche, ouch!!. In the case of the Sportage, the USA units are built in Korea like ours so with many more units sold in the US it is a good indicator of the expected quality of units sold here.

  • go test drive one, you are the best judge of a car that you like

i think you'll be pleasantly surprised

do also have a look at Hyundai (same company as Kia) - same but different

  • Definitely value for money.

    • Unsure about depreciation value after 7 years? any thoughts?

      • Uncharted territory. I think it will still sell well

You wouldn't buy a Kia for resale value. You'd buy it fro a 7 year warranty and hopefully because you enjoy driving it.

  • Nice and can't beat the 7 years warranty

    Lol Kia. No good.

  • Wow look at all the down votes. I'm guessing someone is feeling threatened by Korean competition!

    • Not me that's voting (just fyi) :)

      • Lol I have to admit you were my first suspect.

        • I thought I would be, hence why I felt the need to say something!

  • +1
