MAXTRAX Recovery Tracks $209.30 Pickup at Rays Outdoors (Free Club Signup Required)

190

Not as good as the supercheap auto sale + ebay deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/200571 but this is still worth a mention for those that missed out.

These do work, and I have had both the TREDS and Maxtrax. Snapped 3 of 6 TREDS during a nasty river crossing exit (6 cars + 50 motorbikes crossing either in a trailer or own power), only 1 maxtrax sustained damage because a f-wit decided to spin his wheels (he became an owner of a used pair of maxtrax that evening). Mainly due to the design of the edges - the engineers in the group were surprised how quickly the TREDS split in the same point.

Yes, yes - carpet, sticks, paper mache, bodies work better… but then you won't get the bright orange macho boards on your car… nothing screams awesome 4WD'er more than a set of Maxtrax on a Kia Sportage roof rack!

This is THE best and safest recovery tool out there imo. Well worth the money for legit max trax and $209 is a great price.

I've been using the same set for 4 years now, ,and they're still in perfect condition. They've helped us out of some difficult situations, and are well worth the investment. Agree with OP regarding MaxTrax vs Treds. I've owned both, and the Treds are not comparable.

  • Great price mate, regret the $239 I recently paid at Supercheap!

$209 for a injection molded piece of plastic? Wow that would cost very little to produce. Is there anything else to it?

If you think this is a waste of money, this isn't for you.

I just bought some, they are the best recovery tracks out there.

    • Problem is every other mob that has tried to make one cheaper, produces a second rate product.

      US military uses it:

I've used two sets of Maxtrax stacked together to actually bridge a gap and drive my 3T of 4wd over them. They're worth what they're asking.

  • Wow, I work in the industry, so tend to have a good idea of how cheap these get!

    This is an amazing deal.

I bought a pair, thanks OP! Also picked up the XTM recovery hitch for $42, although I just noticed that Anaconda has a very similar hitch on special for $40 if anyone is interested :)
