Thanks OP. Time to stock up, indeed. A pity the sale does not include the plain wheet-bix. I like to mix the two types together, so that it is not so sweet.

Actually the 575g plain Weet-bix is half price at $1.80

The small packs of plain weetbix are half price, but you are probably better off waiting until the larger box comes on sale for better value.

I found all the wildberry were out of stock already at my local.

      • How much are the bigger packs when on sale? Less than $4 per kg?

        • They hardly go on sale, that is what I found.

          @bluesky:
Yep. As soon as they got put in the low price every day ticket they have never gone on special. That's been about 3-4 years now. When they sold for $6 and twice a year or so go to $3.00 I would buy 15-20 boxes in a week to last me the few months till next sale.

      • The thing is, I find the bigger packs hardly go on sale, and if they do, they are only slightly discounted (nothing like half-price). I have waited a long time .. I think this $1.80 for 575g is going to be hard to beat.

        • +2

The big pack works out to $0.375/100g when not on sale, this current 575g pack equates to just over $0.31/100g. So if the price of the larger pack goes under $3.72, then it is better value (more than a 17.5% discount).

If any of that makes sense to you. I'm not sure how often and how much the discount is on the larger packs when it is, but they're the figures to work with.

        • @m13: Thanks :-)

      • Rain-check half a dozen and collect them 2 or 3 at a time.

        • +1

This was very useful back when they provide 1 year raincheck. Nowadays raincheck is only for 4 weeks. So it makes not much difference if you collect everything together.

@bluesky: I see. I'm a bit out of touch due to online grocery shopping.

I remember being wowed years ago when I was informed that Sanitarium is owned by the Seventh Day Adventist Church. No problem with that just not what I was expecting. Oh yeah, and they operate tax free because they are a religious organisation and also receive government grants so don't feel bad buying ALDI equivalent.

But beware. We Germans aren't all smiles and sunshine.

Wouldn't the aldi ones just be rebranded weetbix? So still get the loot.

Anyway, I understand sanitarium use profits to run hospitals and schools all through the south pacific, so its not as though there is some L Ron Hubbard type snaffling all the loot. it would be like complaining about the salvos.

  • 20% of sugar! great for breeding obese children or adults

    • As mentioned above a few in the bowl to add a little flavour when you don't have a real banana handy

  • Can anyone identify the 'wild berries' ….i think they come from the Cadbury black forest flower.
