The Xbox One S and this revised controller were released 2 weeks ago.
+1 for MightyApe, love these guys!
I own 4 controllers and the One S controller feels a little better (not significantly, in my opinion) but it does make it tonnes easier to pair it to a Windows PC through Bluetooth!Wait seriously? You can just use it wireless with your laptop with no dongle?
I believe it runs off Bluetooth instead of Wireless, so if your Laptop has Bluetooth you should be good to go!
Out of stock. I stumbled while everyone attacked.
Keep checking back :) they were adding more stock of the Elite controllers yesterday.
@callumds: just purchased one 5mins ago so keep checking
Just got one!! You're a legend!
Might bite, was waiting for a steam controller but they are still no where in sight
Those are only good for certain genres that you'd use a mouse for. Otherwise Xbox controller is better.
Thank you.. Bought!
Nice controller. Looks classy too. You'll like it. Buy one.
Edit: good price for new kit. I paid $78 at Target a few weeks back.
Couldn't resist. Purchased.
Great controller, bought one from EB ($78 Target pricematch) the day they were released. Driverless compatibility with Windows 10 provided you have the free anniversary update.
Being able to throw it in my bag and having it naturally wirelessly work on my laptop is great, the older Xbox One controller required the USB cable which is annoying when travelling.
I wish I had of thought to price match, instead I paid the full $89.95 like a schmuck (although I had a $50 gift voucher so that lessened the pain)! I lose OzBargainer respect for such a rookie mistake, it won't happen again!
Unfortunally for me Estimated delivery between 23-30 August…
I've got Windows 10 but I don't seem to have Bluetooth on this computer, does this controller come with a dongle or anything?
You will need to supply your own Bluetooth adaptor. I ordered a USB Bluetooth adaptor online and using the controller wired in the meantime.
Are the shoulder buttons on these fixed?
As in last gen could only really get a press on the very top as oppose to around the curveThat was fixed in the last hardware update. Any controller with the headphone jack will feature the better bumpers. The only thing you lose is the IR sensor.
ah sweet ty
Anyone know if this can be used with the Mac wirelessly?
Yes, via bluetooth, and tried out a few games with OpenEmu.
Cool thanks for replying. So you tried it? Did you have to use a third party driver? (I know this is out of stock now but I'm still thinking about buying one.)
Dang i missed out
Back in stock
Thanks
Missed it again :( Good find regardless!
Click on the eBay link, it's still available. I'm not sure how to update the 'out of stock' message.
@Hayness: Champ! Thanks!
Does anyone know if this will work on a PC with the 360 adapter?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/331842624138?lpid=107&chn=psDoubtful
It uses bluetooth not the xbox 360 wireless protocol.
I'll need a bluetooth adapter then. Thanks.
It also works over wi-fi like the regular controller (it uses Wi-fi Direct when connecting to the Xbox One), so it should work with the xbox one wireless dongle.
BUT, I believe xbox one controllers do not work with the xbox 360 dongle, so you'll have to get the xbox one dongle.
I'd buy if it were in a different colour. Still a good deal though!
It's actually pretty cool in the flesh. Smart looking controller.
Back in stock.
Yeah the new Xbox one s controller is still good but I think its just a marketing scheme so more people pay more money for a controller that has only two more benefits: Bluetooth and textured grip but either than that not that much better than a normal controller also the colour is all the same.
i don't think it's a "marketing scheme" in that sense…if you have an xbox one controller already, and don't need those features, they're not forcing you to upgrade.
the main thing is to make it easier for use with Windows and mobile devices through bluetooth. that is part of their push in PC/Windows (Universal Windows Platform) gaming. it's part of their strategy, not a "marketing scheme".
So do I need to buy one of these bluetooth dongles for my PC in order to use this?
Thanks
Got my controller from mighty ape. There Swift delivery was nice. Have to return it because the Dpad's 'UP' button doesn't respond to being pressed at all. Such a f***er. Why do I get faulty products straight out of the box more and more?
Has the Xbox One S even come out yet?
