Compared to the S2209W this is better though - although both 21.5" This has hdmi etc..
the 2209 is $137 but you lack the HDMI
make your mind up if it's worth the extra… granted most pc folk will have abundant hdmi to dvi converters…
If not, its just a few dollars, or get a $10 hdmi-dvi cable.
If it had a USB hub or speakers, that would be more useful.
Just some side commentary — If you're just looking for a cheap screen as a secondary monitor and the input format is not so important — well the $137 deal is still available through the weekend. Since DVI and HDMI have the same format there's no quality loss between the two (except HDMI carries sound but the screen doesn't have speakers anyway). Whichever screen you might get as a complimentary screen, rotate it to portrait and browse the web and type documents is the best ever — though the ST2xxx don't have VESA mounts, while the U2xxx have. Just a bit of thought after using the U2231 for a few days.

yes the S2209W has vesa 100x100 holes behind the stand plate
that makes all the difference to me since i'm going to use a gas lift
since you need the $50 soundbar for the hdmi sound anyway i guess hdmi isn't all it's cracked up to be on these LCDs
