How can I get the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in Blue Coral within Australia?

Hi,

The Note 7 Blue coral is the blue colored version of the new Note 7 and I am wanting to get this over the Black, Silver and Gold.

I have done enough research to see that the Blue version is not coming to Australia (probably until another 6 months from now).

Sites like Kogan, eGlobal and DWI have the phone listed although no sight of the Blue Coral (import only to Australia).

I have contacted DWI and they said their suppliers will not be shipping the Blue coral.

I have contacted Kogan and they said they can not offer any information but they said its a very high chance they will be able to get the blue coral (as they usually get the other non-Australian colors with other phones) but can not tell me when.

Am I out of luck and have to wait 6 months to get the Blue Coral?

The only site I have found that will ship the blue phone is ' Android Enjoyed ' and I have only heard bad things about them (no examples, just people say to avoid them for whatever reason).

Thank you,

any information would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Just an update, I still have not found the phone which is from a reputable site, any help would still be very beneficial and I am sure others would be grateful aswell.

EDIT2: Just placed a preorder at Expansys (http://www.expansys.com.au/samsung-galaxy-note7-64gb-blue-co…).
The pre-order has no prices or shipping date and you will be informed when they have a set price and stock and you can decline with no cancelation fees.
This is just set as a backup incase I don't find anything.

  • I'm looking to upgrade my current Android smartphone (Sony Xperia Z) to the Note 7. And very tempted to get the Blue colour if there's a way to get it in Australia.

    • I was thinking of pre-ordering through the US Samsung store and getting it delivered to a Freight Forwarding service, that way I would be able to get the Gear Fit 2 along with the phone.

I am just unsure if I would be able to get the watch as I am not a US resident. I have not seen anyone talking about having any experience with this sort of thing.

I believe the US uses different frequency bands to us so their model may not be suited to our networks.

        • I completely forget about the difference between the models, I will have to take that into consideration.

          Cheers

  • Once the phone actually becomes available, check for stores that are based in Hong Kong - there's plenty of those around online.

There's not much info on the 3G/4G band information at the moment, but you'd want to import from a country that has the same bands as Australia.

Check that that the model you get covers the appropriate bands for your intended use:

    • Thank you for the info,

So would you think I could just buy the phone through the Hong Kong sellers and get it shipped here?

If so, What would the warranty be like? I haven't had any experience with ordering a phone other than the direct seller (such as the official Samsung online store).

      • +1

I normally get it from Hong Kong directly. The few times I've bought things from Hong Kong online, I've used DWI and out of about 10 purchases, haven't had any issues with them in relation to the product or shipping. I always pay for express shipping because I'm impatient.

So far, I haven't had any issues that might require invoking the warranty process. However, I take the risk as a trade off for the cheaper prices (usually) and I'm willing to wear that risk. Unless it's a DOA, I've got the mindset that if something were to break during the warranty period, I'd throw it away and get a new one rather than go through their process.

        • DOA?

Yeah I bought(pre-ordered) my Note 4 two years back, I had an issue immediately as it would not connect to the network, and then I just sent it back a few weeks back for a burn in image on the screen (of the keyboard). I never have had a huge problem with any devices although I always am worried that I would need warranty the one time that I don't get it.

Are there any suggested sites I should buy from other than eGlobal, Kogan and DWI?

          Cheers.

@0burntrice0: DOA = Dead On Arrival

        • @0burntrice0:

I've never tried eGlobal or Kogan so can't really give you a proper opinion on them from experiences - although, in the past, I've read a number of stories about Kogan and I made up my mind a long time ago that I wouldn't buy anything from them. I can't quote anything off the top of my head, but I do remember that they sounded like intentional dodginess.

Remember that it's just my personal opinion - some other people on this forum may have had good experiences with them, so don't just go by what I've said.

        • @bobbified:

I have bought from them before with smaller items and they seemed to be just fine. Mates of mine have bought more expensive things such as phones from them before and I only have heard of one issue was when the phone completely died and wouldn't work.

Kogan sent him a refund along with a refund for a screen protector and case.

In my opinion I have only heard good things through Kogan and only recently found out about DWI, eGlobal and Android Enjoyed.

When you say you buy from Hong Kong directly do you mean you travel over there? If not, what sites do you buy from? I feel like its very hard to find a legit site that doesn't look like you will be scammed.

          @0burntrice0:

When you say you buy from Hong Kong directly do you mean you travel over there?

Yes, I travel there once or twice each year and there's a number of computer centres in Wan Chai, Mongkok and Sham Sui Po that spend a lot of time in. When you're buying from those places, they're happy to open it up and let you inspect it and also turn it on to have a play to show that it works.

Lately though, the AUD:HKD hasn't been the best, so the prices aren't that much better than here. I guess it'll be up to you whether the price difference is worth it.

        • @bobbified:

So far I think I might just have to wait.

I just am wondering if it will be months until I see it available,

The pre-order ends on the 18th (you get a free 256gb sd card which I will probably sell if I got it). But if I can wait less than a few months to order the blue version then I would much rather that.

Everywhere seems to state that they have no information from their suppliers.

        • +1

          @0burntrice0:

Hong Kong usually gets their stock quite quickly so, fingers crossed, the wait is not too long!

    • I have never really trusted buying expensive things though eBay, (mainly because I know people have had issues with different sellers, but things like they waste their money on a faulty product)

How trustworthy would this be and how much support would I get if it was faulty or DOA ect..?

      • and the ebay one says pre-order with Blue having no fixed date it will arrive and be available.

        • I have been told that if an eBay item has the set delivery date, and it does not arrive within that date you can claim a refund after 21days or something like that.

I am not 100% sure on it though.

  • Just wanted to bump the thread as I am still wanting to hear more opinions. :)

I came across the below site and it is Australian.
    https://www.techrific.com.au/samsung-galaxy-note-7-64gb-4g-l…

You might want to giv it a try

    • Cheers, They look okay, They don't seem too dodgy although I have never heard of them before.

I will have a look into it. :)

      • Keep in mind with Techrific, they are the one's who will be providing the 12 month warranty.- as the device is most likely a parallel import (grey stock)

        • Yeah I think most sites offer warranty but its through the site you bought the phone from.

      • its a pre-order as well with no date given that they can deliver.

  • saw this website selling blue. Wondering if there would be a pink version coming out.

    https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/samnote7dual64gbblu-prt…

    • There is no planned release for a pink version, if you want pink you will probably have to go for the S7 Edge.

  • all the links given are pre-orders with no delivery dates so take care. Might be best to just wait a few weeks or so and see what comes available then.

    • Yeah Expansys have their preorder which wont charge you or ship untill you confirm (once they have stock) it seems they are the best so far.

But yeah I might wait for kogan or something to get them in.

  • Let me know the site from which you get your note 7 after you decide.where you want to order it from Let us know after after you get in mail and checking the authenticity of the product in hand.
Till then good luck on your search and mine. Will keep posted if I find other legitimate sites.
    Cheers

    • Cheers, Yeah I will be posting here if I do anything.

So far I have just signed up to the pre-order on Expansys at (http://www.expansys.com.au/samsung-galaxy-note7-64gb-blue-co…)

This is because they do not currently have a price or a shipping date, and they will not charge or ship without confirmation that you still wish to purchase it. This also have no cancelation fees.

I feel like shops should do this more often^.

Will keep editing the top post if anything changes.

  • +1

Does Kogan sell original products or grey items assuming they are not the real deal.
    Any insights

    • All of them are original products, it only comes down to warranty which differentiate between local and grey imports.

      • Just be careful from buying from shops you don't know,

If the shop goes out of business, then that means no more warranty for you I am fairly sure.

i heard people talking about note7 with Exynos processor are better then snapdragon.
Anyone know if Australia is getting Exynos or snapdragon?
If it does matter, just have to be careful which processor you get from those online reseller.

    • I heard this too,

I could not find a difference between the two for the Note4 but maybe someone has more information on them?

  • +1

Australia is getting the Exynos over snap dragon. Just need to find out which processors the online retailers are selling when you place the order

    • Is there a big difference?

      • Exynos generally has better battery efficiency and better battery life.

        • I doubt it would be by much if Samsung are producing two different products and not giving a price difference?

Is it worth the trouble to get Exynos over Snap Dragon?

  • Kogan have the blue Note 7 in stock for $1259(+ delivery)
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/samsung-galaxy-note-7-dual-sim-…

Can anyone confirm the information I got today by speaking to the Kogan employee?

The dual sim phone is 100% identical except it has an extra sim slot (Which is 2g only and will become useless in December).
    and
I able to put one sim into the phone and it will act exactly the same as if I was to purchase the standard version.

If there is no downside what so ever I am thinking of purchasing through Kogan as it seems to be the most reputable currently.

EDIT: I also asked if Samsung Pay will work as it is imported and he said it would be compatible and nothing should be an issue with using it.

EDIT2: I will only be using one sim in my phone at any given time. The secind sim slot will be empty.
I hear that messages and calls always bug you with notifcations asking which sim to use, if I use one sim, will I see this?

  • +1

Technically and logically it shouldn't if you don't insert the other sim. That's my opinion though haven't ever used a dual sim phone.

    • That is what I am hoping. If I get it in writing from a kogan employee that its 100% the same ect… And if I do have one sim and it constantly asks (which would be a pain) would I be eligable for a return without restocking costs?

      • I called the Samsung store to enquire and they did confirm there will be no difference to the usability from the two phones unless I was to add a secondary sim card into the phone.

  • +2

Heads up folks, there are reports that Note 7's are catching fire while charging. Rumours say Samsung will begin recall of all Note 7's shortly…. $1300 phone? Nope, just a fire starter haha….

  • +1

What a shame Samsung. So much for All the excitement and hype.

    • RIP….
I'm hoping its going to be much less by the time its available
