Which is the best torch that can be used as a rechargeable spotlight?
Which Sub $50 Spotlight Torch?

Cheers but I like the idea of getting a local torch in case of warranty as it will be an everyday device.
Fair enough, local prices are much higher on torches though. Torch like this locally would probably be $100 plus in store, if available at all.
i have the 2 of the smaller version of these from bunnings beam is really good also battery is good rechargeable via micro usb
si i imagine the bigger version would be really good.https://www.bunnings.com.au/eiger-lighthouse-6w-cree-led-mul…

This looks good, I see it is rechargeable built in. Is the battery good? I mean will it last 5 years of everyday?
Not sure about the battery i have had mine for about 3 tears with no issue but for 30 bucks i reckon they are good value
No way this light up 1km away in any useful way! I have some torches make it a very long way, but any torch that throws that far is an average everyday torch as you need flood too in most circumstances.
What specs do you need i build torches. I can find a good one for you.
Nothing fancy just enough to see about 300m for security spotting and general to and from shed etc. Also handy emergency light for blackouts. To be honest I don't think I can get past this Eiger torch that Steve recommended. Being as it is designed for emergencies and being a spotty also makes it a real treat.
yea it looks okay for the price but its really big and not the brightest…
If everyday use rechargeable battery may not be the most practical especially if you want it to last five years.
Not rechargeable torch but battery headlamp gives unbeatable throw/flood and within your price range.
http://korrlighting.com.au/10w-led-headlamp-green.htmlCheers but a headlamp would annoy me plus it is too mono purpose if you know what I mean. I wonder if the batteries can be changed out in this Eiger torch?
Slightly over your budget but I can highly recommend this one.

Very well made and sturdy. You need to be careful where you aim this thing on full brightness, it is extremely bright over 500 metresCheers mate, think I'm going with this Eiger torch seems to tick the boxes of my usage requirements.
I'd be looking for something USB rechargeable 18650 based torch. For example:

Don't know anything about this one.
You need think if you want a floodlight, or spotlight. Personally I find flood much more useful. Depth of reflector determines this.
