Someone wants to buy an item from me from interstate (a reasonably valuable item). How do I know that payment can't be reversed after postage? Should I get payment to PayPal? To my bank account? Other options? Is there any precautions I should take to stop a reversal of payment? Thanks.

Thanks is for the suggestion. It sounds at the moment like I should be requesting cash deposit to my bank accouny or if they don't want to do that then tell them other option is cash on delivery which they can pay additional fees.
The best alternative I can think of is paypal, and there is a way to prevent reversal.

that's good for not paying a transaction fee. however, there is no seller protection. the buyer can pay with a cc and then proceed with a chargeback.
there is technically no safe way to receive pp payments if a cc was used on the buyer's end.
Don't trust Paypal . Very bad experience with them ..Most of their service centres are located at Philippines . Poor English and hard to understand what they say.
