Vaya Mobile Plan Change Fee

Hello,

I'm an existing Vaya Mobile customer from last 6 months onwards and wanted to take advantage of the newly released mobile plans they have available. Upon reading the fine-prints, there is a $5 plan change fee. Does this sound normal? Is there any way to avoid it?

I'm currently on the $18 plan (unlimited calls/sms/mms + 1.5gb data) and wanting to change to either $16 plan (unlimited calls/sms/mms + 1gb data) OR one of the cheaper 12 month plan.

    Are you locked in the contract? if yes then you will get charge.

    if not just port out from Vaya then port back in again for the cheaper plan.

      No not locked into a contract, just a month to month type plan.

        A lot of hassle for 5 dollars since you have to factor in the 1-2 dollar cost of another sim, the potential for the porting to go wrong/delayed, and missing important calls/texts when porting occurs and swapping over sim.

          Yes. I'm just going to pay the $5 fee to avoid any delays etc.
