How much is shipping? Being from shopping square it could be $20

  • $10 to Perth

  • so this brings it to par with GoodBargain's deal? Or better?

    • Well I bought 2 from goodbargain and total was $35.8 shipped
This deal 2 shipped is around $35 rounded up. so cheaper here and bl for me.

    $10 SHIPPING *%$

    • +1

Just looking, the cheapest on staticice appears to be $25, so with shipping it's still cheaper.

Plus i'm not sure if that would qualify as a legitimate description for a negative vote.

      • -1

If deceptive business practices are not ground for a negative, they damned well should be.
        Discourage the scams.

Should read "$9.95 + Delivery + $8.90 padded onto delivery charge."
As stands its dishonest, and shame on those who condone it.

It should be $1.10 to post a thicker-than-5mm envelope.
At least on fleabay the inflated P&H charges are stated up front.

        • That is a good point (he didn't make that point though, just stated the shipping).

If there are any shopping square reps reading this, pick up your game, but otherwise, it still seems cheaper than other places.

        • You guys are dreaming! It honestly shocks me the amount of people that have no idea how much postage costs in this country. $1.10….dream on buddy. To ship this (properly) east coast metro would be $4.40 + padded satchel and that's without retail packaging. Actual cost to post + packaging I believe would be around $6 so yes it is somewhat inflated but nowhere near the extent that you claim.

          • @syekotk: Excessive packaging is used to add perceived value. I was expecting a blister pack.
A padded envelope would do fine, and come in less than 20mm thick.

If it is in a big box, you can't really mean that is would still need a padded bag!?

I got the N150 dongle from goodbargain on ozbargain, and it came with a single 55c stamp.
Ok, that is a little cheap :-)

          • @syekotk: I've bought a similar product from GoodBargian (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/24908) and TopBuy (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/25863). The GoodBargain one came in a padded parcel thingy, whereas the TopBuy one came in an unpadded small envelope (which would have been a lot cheaper to send than the padded one). Both didn't come with a box, just the USB dongle and a driver CD.

        • I don't understand, freddy. On the product page you can enter your postcode and shipping cost is provided instantaneously.

          How is that not upfront?

          • @camelgrass: It is hidden behind a form. Get the mark to makes an effort before the padding is revealed.
"upfront" means in the same place as the bait price, ie the headline.

edit: just like pauly did it :-)
This particular vendor has something of a reputation over inflated shipping.
They don't make a cent selling goods, but their shipping department does rather well.

            • @freddy: A lot of online shops operate that way. In fact with many online shops you only find out shipping costs when you go to checkout. Here there is shipping cost right on the product page.

Agreed, shipping is expensive, but expensive shipping and being upfront about shipping are 2 different matters. Here they are being upfront and not hiding anything about shipping costs.

I don't like ShoppingSquare's business model of high freight costs either, that's why I don't buy from them.

        • The only way they are going to post this for $1.10 is if they open the box and send the module with no accessories in the cheapest envelope they can find. Is that how you like your new stuff delivered?

Here's a picture of how big the box is in this review (its a diff model but the box is about the same)

$1.10 for a box, keep dreaming!

$1.10 is good for something less than 2cm thick and under ~50 grams.

It will cost minimum of $4.35 to ship the box to you, more if you are in a regional area.
Then someone has to place the box into a mailbag, print an address sticker, stick the sticker on and then do something with it so it will be collected for postage.

So you are paying $4 postage + $6 handling fee.
Do i think a $6 handling fee is excessive? Yes, a little.

agree they use hook and jag sale tricks

    • mudguppy1, shipping price has been added to the title.

As per ozbargain's voting guidelines, your negative will now be revoked since amendment has been made to the title and your comments do not provide further justification on the negative vote.

Might be worth using this with this

  • Beta Driver for win 7 only? can anyone share their experiences with this beta win7 driver? Thanks in advance.

    • I just plugged in one (or a very similar one) and it worked out of the box after finding drivers on Windows Update. You might not need drivers.

  • It is 802.11 b/g/n. Not a/b/g/n as the picture leads you to believe.

  • the Good Bargain offer is about a dollar more than this BUT apparently also provides a USB cable in the box - whereas this one doesn't
