Just started a new job on St Kilda Road in Melbourne. I live a long way out of the city and not keen on Public Transport. I am looking for a parking spot close to work to rent. I have looked on Gumtree, parkhound etc and questioned a few owners, waiting for replies. I have also seen a website called parkingmadeasy which frankly looks dodgy to me. they ask you for a monthly fee before they will put you in touch with the carpark owners. Their spots don't look any cheaper than anywhere elses so the subscription cost is an added fee that you get nothing for….dodgy! Is there a trick to this that I am missing? Does anyone know of any good parking tricks or discount parking for St Kilda rd (near Commercial Rd intersection).

Check out the angle meter parking on Moubray Street (back of the Alfred Hospital). From memory, they were 10hr metered spots, and might have been $5-6 a day. Definitely the cheapest parking in the area that I found when visiting the hospital.
No idea how you'd go getting a spot consistently, but worth a shot.
Get a parking spot before traffic gets too heavy. Swap over there between your car and a motorbike/scooter. Have lots of extra time and cheap parking!
