I've heard about 'peak times' being problematic with Dodo, though I'm a little unsure if the speeds I'm seeing are normal or not. At peak times (such as 6-late on Friday nights) my internet speed drops to around 3-4mbps (megabit - not byte) on speedtests. At the best of times (usually early in the morning) I usually see speeds more around 14-15mbps - closer to sync speed. I moved house when I made the switch to Dodo, so I'm unsure what speeds are usually expected in this location. Am I right to assume that with a more reliable provider I would see closer to the sync speed (say 15mbps) almost 24/7, or could the problem be before Dodo's infrastructure?

There's no real way to know until you switch, it might be your area/exchange as well. 3-4 doesn't sound too bad, at least usable for most things, I'd suggest if you're happy with the price you're paying then stay for now… until fibre arrives in your area.
