Thinking of Selling my free flight with my Amex Edge card, what's the process?

Hi All,

My husband and I each have the Amex Edge with free flight, and it doesn't look like we'll be using it by the renew date in March next year (already 2 holidays booked and not much annual leave left).

Has anyone sold their flight here? What's the process? Money first then book the ticket? What's the going rate?

    I sold mine on gumtree.com.au. Advertise it as trip from Perth to eligible cities to increase the value. Ive seen Prices vary from $250-500 depending how quickly you want to sell it.

    Once you have a buyer ring up amex and check if dates they want are available, if they are that's when you get them to pay and then book the flight in their name. Forward on itinerary and your done.

    As a seller yes always money first. Has anyone ever been scammed buying flights off Ozbargain though? It seems like there's no way to protect yourself as a buyer?

    I did used item was $200, paid for item yet he kept selling it, told seller I was private gumshoe, goods then arrived 2 days later.

    Why sell when you can cancel your card and get refund on your annual fee. If you havnt claim your free flight they will pro rata refund the annual fee for you. Less hassle that way
