SD card for Sony RX100 III

I just picked up a Sony RX100 III. I'm looking at getting a 64GB capacity SD card but not really sure what reading/writing speeds I will need to have the best experience taking photos and video. Any advice and card recommendations and any current deals would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • SDXC Class 10 should be used if you plan on shooting burst in RAW.

I have the same camera and this is the card I ordered:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SanDisk-64GB-Extreme-Pro-SD-SDXC-…

It currently has a 32GB Samsung SDHC Class 10 which shoots still photos without issues. I haven't tested out video though so can't really comment on that.

  • I recommend the same card linked above. I have one and it works flawlessly.

64gig is a minimum requirement for being able to shoot in some of the higher quality video modes.

On the spec sheet, "64GB or Larger Class10/UHS-I SD Card Required for XAVCS Recording".

    Happy Shooting 😉

  • Thanks for the replies. Do you know what the difference between U1 and U3 rating is?

Officeworks has the same card linked above but for $186!!??
