You should probably ask a few dealer mazda dealers…
The combination of vehicle options, personality of the buyer and dealer, dealer commission, dealership incentives, finance vs cash and a whole bunch of other stuff combine to make the actual number different for every sale.
At the end of the day YOU will decide what is the best price YOU can get it for, or you wont buy one.
It depends if it is the base model or if you added extra options (more margin on options). I would think you can get it for low 40k (average 10% discount on dealer's initial price). Start with an offer of 38,500 and hope to get if for 40k or just a bit more. Of course ring different dealers.
Have a look on whirlpool. Heaps of info on prices. 12% off rrp for a cx5 GT is about the maximum discount you'll get. It all varies and depends on location, and how much competition there is.
If you walk in there ready to commit they're more likely to talk price. If you're not happy be prepared to walk out and try other dealers.
