Wasn't sure if I should post in Another category, but this one sound okay, hope it is?
Im in a world of confusion and hope you can help. To the point, I would like my PS4 and TV to be both connected to my 5.1 setup, an older LG receiver. See Below

Usually, and most likely incorrectly I would have everything setup as follows, please excuse my lack of knowledge and technical terminology.
I had my PS4 plugged into the TV via HDMI. Then i had a Toslink between the TV and the receiver, with the receiver being on the ''TV/Home Theater'' function on my controller. I had full 5.1. Not sure if that's the best way to have done this, it seems to work.
Hdmi from the Receiver to the Tv, for Dvds and Stereo use.
Now, That TV has died. I have decided to buy just another cheap one to replace it, See below.

Stupid me, has already brought 2 other TVs, only to discover these didnt have the magical ''optical'' port i needed to get 5.1. So i have returned these to their previous stores :(
The one above, the one i like, doesnt have this 'opt' port either.. What Im asking is, am i missing something here?
Im not seeing a great amount of TVs that have these ports, in my tiny price range, and the one i did buy, had too many dead pixels and was returned too, so didnt really want another one of those brands.
Is there a way to simply just plug the optical cable between the ps4 and the receiver, to only take the sound signal, and then still have the hdmi take the video? I dont care if i need to turn the tv down or whatever, i just want to buy a fricken TV, turn it on, watch football and play my ps4, through my old ass receiver, because, Im old, i dont like change and i like my stereo!
Im pretty sure I can just go between the PS4 and the receiver with the optical, then make the ps4 send audio to the optical out. Howere what would i do for the TV surround sound?
Yes, optical audio is becoming less and less common. What most TVs and receivers have these days is HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). This means that the TV uses a hdmi cable to the receiver. It needs to be supported by both the receiver and the TV, unfortunately. Have a look in your receiver manual and see if it supports ARC.
