Buying a Xiaomi Mi4 but Which One?

Hey everyone,

I need a new phone again i want to spend at most 220 aussie on it i was gonna get a mi3 pro but i dont like the look or the only available color being gold… so i was thinking this mi4c i also like the mi4s but it seems outta my price range

I dont care about ram and rom so much 16gb is fine for me ..

Please let me know if you think there is a better suggestion then the above ..

  Mi4c is a good choice. I'd stay away from the Mi4i (it's not very well supported with MIUI updates any more). Just be aware that if you flash it with one of the later firmwares you'll lock the bootloader. If it comes with an unlocked bootloader I'd consider using the latest ROM from xiaomi.eu (an unofficial site) - it comes with Google Play etc and won't lock your bootloader.

  There is no official Global ROM from Xiaomi for the Mi4c, but I think the specs make it excellent bang-for-buck.

  I can't comment on Gearbest, except I see they are banned from Ozbargain. Although I've not ordered from these guys either, they may be an alternative:

  I would suggest Mi4S. I am having a PM conversation with the rep from Everbuying to ask for a good deal either Mi4s or 4c. If your budget allows you, go 4s

      There are many other choices on the market. You do not neccecery to choose in between Mi4c or 4i. I personally like MI4s, Mi4c, redmi note 3 pro prime, Elephone P9000, Letv 1s or one pro. They are all around AUD200-250. I am still waiting for a good deal for any of those models before I pull the trigger.

        sorry im really slow at replying haha only just logged on again .. it was a great phone i dropped it in the first week cracked the screen and the whole screen doesn't work after that which is its one weakness .. got a new screen replaced it.. all good but GPS was rubbish after that (probably my fault)

        anyways a few months later repeated screen break and i brought it home with me to Aus and it has gone AWOL on me somewhere so now i have a nice new screen and no phone?

        you end up picking one up?

  Really interested in this phone to trial Windows 10 mobile. Anybody know if one of the variant models support it? I can only seem to find information to support that only the original model does.
