  • was just about to post this myself ;)

is it just me or is Gummy Cola not there at all??

    • It does look that way! :( I'll remove that from the list.

damn at least a kg of cola bottles would have been good…

  • +1

    Helloooo cavities. Haha.

    • +2

Helloooo diabetes. Hah… um maybe not

The labeling on the website does not conform to Australian Standards…

"Standard the additive must be declared by the name of
that class followed by the additive’s specific name or code number in brackets, as indicated
in Schedule 2 of this Standard."

Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code
    STANDARD 1.2.4 LABELLING OF INGREDIENTS

(some people have allergies and need to know exactly what is being used…)

    • That's not my fault though! ;)

I agree though… really strange that it's not up there…

      • "That’s not my fault though!" Lol

Dodgy dodgy dodgy - you have no idea where it's made or what you're really eating!

Like buying the stuff from the $2 shops.

    • +2

Report them to the relevant authority…

  • +voting just because i would buy this if there were no negative health effects :)

    So tempting..

  • Is $5 a kilo for cheap no-name lollies a bargain tho?

    • +2

Nope, they are about $4 a kilo at rite price…

  • Wish they had the cola, but i agree with Wampus, wish i knew what brand they were or something…

    • -1

Also you can't choose different types, you've gotta get through 3 kilos of the same flavour! Unless you've got a kids party to cater, or you really love one of the flavours… no deal!

      • +2

you can actually, the bottom options in the dropdown allow you to choose a mix of them.

        • oops my bad

    Sweet Deal

    • haha nice

isn't it illegal to not state the country of manufacture ?

    • last time i ordered from these guys stock came from vietnam and don't think they wrote it ("only to be sold in vietnam"), but everyone on here was happy with it heh incl me. bit risky with quality/health, but cheap price nonetheless..

Do people really eat this kind of garbage ???

Imagine how hyper kids would get eating undisclosed chemicals from the back blocks of industrial China (or worse)

    • I suppose some people do. Personally I wouldn't, too much temptation if left around and if I'm going to eat sugars, I might as well have some chocolate with it rather than food acids. But to each their own. The flavours are industrial chemicals anyway, I don't think chemicals from the back blocks of Industrial Australia will be much better in immoderate quantities. :)

      • +3

Yeah why not eat some chocolate - the cocoa which its made from comes from child slave labour in Africa….

Chinese chemicals or African child slaves - your choice. I guess the latter doesnt harm your or your families health.

        • +1

Not all chocolate has that provenance. In fact not all chocolate comes from Africa even. You can choose.

        • +1

Cadbury claim theirs is made with fair-trade ingredients. How good/honest 'fairtrade' is I have no idea, but it appears it's a step in the right direction.

      Your evidence for this is?

    • +1

On the site it lists BB date for most of them as April next year. So thanks for the unrequired neg. :-/

      • +1

Don't worry north, this guy is OzBargain's resident troll, it seems to be the highlight of his day to neg for ridiculous reasons.

  • +4

I for one like to know what I'm putting into my mouth. Maybe it's just me being paranoid and distrusting, but the least they should do is list their supplier.

    • -1

So you would eat three kilos of sugar if you knew it didnt have anything bad in it?

      • +1

you can say that about anything that is sugar-based, it's lollies in bulk. some people find this concept hard to grasp, especially health freaks. perception.

      • +1

Over a period of time, yes.

  • I know I am cheap . .but .. I don't want to die from eating this unknown, imported, chemically engineered stuff :)

  • are these good quality? ^_^

  • +2

I'm disappointed with the no cola bottles, I would've picked up 6kg of the stuff if they had it.

    • I looove cola bottles too =( Was trying to find it on the dropdown list, but guess I am too slow…
Edited to add - Oh just read earlier comments that they were never available to begin with. Bah! ;p

      • +1

    • +2

      Diabeetus!

I actually contacted them yesterday afternoon to ask if there was labeling with numbers on the actual packaging, and also to ask if they had a manufacturers name for the product - or a country of origin, but never got a response. So its a big -1 for me. Though I won't rate it now, since its expired.

    • probably because they didn't take your name seriously haha
