Same model as this deal 10 days ago but $50 cheaper. Lenovo ThinkPad E550 laptop i3 model is now $499 delivered when you use coupon code DEALS. Here's the spec:

• Intel Core i3-5005U Processor
• Windows 10 Home
• 15.6" HD (1366x768)
• 4GB RAM
• 500GB HDD
• 6 cell battery

Note that it's the last gen EDGE series (current being E560) using Broadwell CPU. It also does not come with an optical drive to save cost.

  shame about the 1366 x 768 resolution but the drive is 7,200RPM which is nice, I was expecting 5,400rpm.

        I wish I had 1366x768 with 32bit colours in the 80's. Only had a Hercules with 720×348 monochrome on my 4.77MHz XT-compatible :(

    I dont think so. It is still ancient technology and the weak link in a decent laptop.
    A cheap SSD is 'nice'.
    A high spec NVMe drive is good.

      I was more referring to the $ to performance.

      Of course, an SSD would be nicer, a high spec NVMe drive, even better.
      Are you going to find a high spec NVMe drive is a sub $500 new laptop from Lenovo though.

        my point was just 5400rpm or 7200rpm is not nice in any way. they are both just as crap as each other.

        just very old & slow technology either way.

      change it to the 1080p panel and drop the OS to win10 Home x64 and it's $819.

      however that isn't great value imo either.

        I just locked in this deal. Was looking to see if anyone else had cottoned onto this.
        Upgrading to an SSD myself afterwards for quality control.

  Just found that with ThinkPad E560 you can (1) down grade from Win7 Pro to Win10 Home (2) add 15.6" FHD and you get

  • i5-6200U
  • 4GB RAM
  • 1TB HDD
  • 15.6" FHD (1920x1080)

  for $719 delivered. Good deal, but still a bit more than TA's special.
