EXACTLY, glam studios who have misleading ads and trick you into free photo sessions as long as pay $500 for $100 worth of pics put watermarks on their work because it's only fair they protect their copyright.
MSpaint will help you remove watermarks.
Print the photo and leave it in the sun for a few hours and hope for the best
Put liquid paper on it.
Cut and paste is free to do.

If its for an internal presentation for work - ask around if someone from your team, or your marketing team has a commercial account with the originating stock image website.
If it's for a public facing presentation - pay for the work, you don't want the lawsuit or Cease & Desist that may come your way.
If it's for personal use, (like a print out for a birthday party) - if you know who actually drew/authored the picture, try messaging them and asking for permission and a watermark free version. Most people are reasonable and happy to support fun use of their works as long as its for personal use only.
The watermarks are most likely there for a reason. How about you just purchase them instead of trying to steal them?
