Potential iPhone 6s Price Drop When 7 Releases

Hi everyone,

I am in desperate need for a new phone and am considering buying an iphone 6s outright.

My question is should I wait for the iphone 7 release as this would probably mean a price drop in the 6s?

Realistically, how much would the price drop by anyway? Does anyone remember stats from previous new iphone releases? At the moment Apple have the 6s at $1079 on their website

Another factor is there is no confirmed date for the 7's release, so I could be waiting for an indefinite amount of time.

    I don't believe prices to drop drastically following release of a new phone.

    If anything, I imagine Apple would try to dry up supplies of older models before releasing the new one.

    I'm in a similar situation. From everything I've read the new iPhone is due for release on September 16th and pre-orders will start Sep 12, although nothings been officially confirmed yet.

    From memory they normally only drop the previous model by $200-300 or so.

    10-20% tops. They don't really discount, they just stop selling them…

    If any, i think apple will keep pushing the price higher for its next product so it can keep the current ones at the same price. So when you compare the new and old, it looks like you are getting a "discount" for buying the old phone.
