Hey guys

The retail price of Dell's flagship Latitude is approximately $3300, but on sale it's around the $1890-$2200 mark. This is in "As New" condition and there are 19 in stock last I checked. It has a better than average keyboard, one of the best built laptops on the market and the storage can be easily replaced with most types of M.2 storage.
I have one that I take overseas and the battery life is usually 9 hours with normal use (web browsing and watching videos). These usually sell within a few hours so be quick.

Specs: Intel I5-6300U, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 128 GB M.2 SSD, Windows 10 Pro, 4-cell 55 Wh battery, 14.0" FHD (1920x1080) display, 1.5 kg and the most important thing is the extensive military-grade MIL_STD 810G testing.

          In my experience (maybe 20+ purchases from outlet) as new is new.

          As new machines come in sealed boxes that have never been opened with the inside contents factory fresh. Also when buy from outlet you get a quote that has the service code. Very easy to plug that into support site to see when it was made.

          Refurbs are generally returns from customer. Sometime they open boxes sometimes sealed but more often you can tell boxes have been opened.

          Example is a Precision 5510 I picked last week with 32GB ram, i7 HQ, 512GB SSD $1899, similar spec in as-new is $2300, brand new best we could get from account rep was just over $4400

          @jbnz: not if you want 2 SSDs. 84WH battery takes up the spot for the 2.5in sata ssd. I have 512GB ssd sata from Dell and a 512GB M2 sitting here ready to go. Don't care much for battery as these machines mostly get used on power. Most battery will be 1-2 hour flights. Depends on what you want, but this spec is perfect for me. Took about 4 weeks on stalking the dfo site to find it.

          My first choice was a Xeon 7510 (there was one recently on the outlet store with Xeon, 32GB and 512GB SSD $1999) as it has the docking connector, real ethernet port, way better gfx options and better all around EXCEPT for, the damn thing has a numeric keypad and is about 1 KG heavier. I can live with the weight, but numeric keypad was a deal breaker after having one a few years ago a swore off buying another laptop with the numeric keypad, but the 7510 did have me in a real pickle as I have an e-dock setup at home that I cant use anymore.

          I managed to get a Dell Inspiron 17" 5000 i7 1TB HDD 8GB RAM for around $900 last Christmas after all the discounts and cashbacks……

          Inspirons are garbage and built from cheap materials and consumer electronics. This is a business laptop with a docking connector and military standard build quality. The battery is also better quality on this.

          working fine thus far… Show me another 17" with those specs for $900 ??

          Also got a 15" HP Elitebook i5 with 8GB ram for around $300 !!! I threw in a spare SSD I had and it flies…

          Why do people pay $3200 for a laptop ???

          @cDNA: I agree Inspirons are garbage however just to clarify the Lattitude isn't really 'military standard'. Its just something they chuck on there to mislead people to thinking they're getting something well built and rugged. Like most other people when I see military standard I think dusty, hot/cold, wet environment and the product can take a beating. However people should realise that military standard products (using MIL_STD 810G) are tested to the environment where they operate. While it may actually have 'extensive' military grade testing to MIL_STD 810G, it is likely that testing completed would be for the machine to comply within a business environment ie: on a desk in an air conditioned room. So the build quality is likely no better than your standard laptop.

      You can't use cashrewards or get a discount when you purchase from the outlet.

      The prices have already been reduced by a lot, so you almost always get a pretty good deal when you buy a laptop.

    i bought the i7 16gb 256ssd model earlier this year for 1429 or so.

    nice laptop but the backlight bleed was way too much. I got it replaced under warranty once which made it worse and I eventually returned it for a full refund.

    shame as I really liked it.

    Can anyone confirm if a 42mm SSD will work in the WWAN slot on the 7470 ?

      It works in the Lenovo T460p's WAN Slot and in the Dell Latitude e5470.

    Some bundles doesn't mention AC adapter.
