    any vegan options?

      The packet it comes in.

      • LOL!

    • +16

      Grass.

      • +2

        do you offer a sample pack?

      • You're smoking what? Is that why the title says Sutton Gorest instead of Forest?

    • +1

      best way to eat veggies is after they've been organically and naturally processed into meat

    • The farts from everyone else in the room who just enjoyed that delicious steak dinner.

  • -2

    Please put shipping and price in title, for me it was $22

    Honestly this seems too expensive.

    You are forced to get what is in the sampler, the meat doesn't seem any better quality then the usual places you can buy meat and it looks like you can buy it cheaper or at least a similar price elsewhere.

    • +7

      Have you had their meat before? If so, how can you claim the meat "doesn't seem any better quality then the usual places" from a bit of text and a couple of thumbnail photos?

      Of course you can buy meat cheaper elsewhere - Woolies does their market value range, which is fine if you like brain, lips and arseholes being minced into your snags.

      You are forced to get what is in the sampler

      And that's what the sampler is for. A sample of their meat range. I'm not sure what you don't get about that.

      • +2

        Of course I'm basing it on the photos, you haven't offered another way of comparing. The meat doesn't look any better then a butcher.

        Also nice comparison… if I don't buy from you I'm obviously buying "arseholes" from Woolworths…

        The sampler needs to be cheap for the inconvenience of not getting exactly what I want, otherwise I would go to the butcher and get exactly what I want!

        If you wanted to impress me, you should have done an ozbargain special, not just posted your weekly deal from facebook which almost every butcher does as well.

        Also maybe put "Associated" when you post so people know you work here… You recently joined ozbargain and your only posts are here, its against the rules here to be a sockpuppet :)

        • I've nothing to do with these lot. I just thought your comments were not constructive in any way. I did only recently join ozbargin, yesterday in fact, when I saw the free deal on the Guzman Y Gomez burritos (pretty tasty for free). A first post is a first post and that I've criticised your unhelpful comment does in no way make me a "sockpuppet".

        • +4

          I don't think anyone is trying to impress you. If you don't like their sampler pack don't buy it. If you want to go to a butcher, go to a butcher.

          I buy from another 'farm to your door' meat place and love the meat compared to my local butcher, next on my list is to try this place. It is a sample that they put together, how can they put together a sampler that meets every persons needs and thats an inconvenience to you? Go to a butcher and get what you want rather than comment that this bargain isn't tailored to YOU. To me this has what id rather in a pack than the current pack I get from another place.

          you must have missed this part also 'Any item can be exchanged for another of similar value' seems they do what they can to help the 'not easily pleased'

          How many bargains on Ozbargain are tailored to be just an ozbargain bargain, not many at all. Ozbargain musnt impress you much…

          The comments section is for discussing the deal posted… It's not only for fanboys and sockpuppets to post motherhood statements… If people don't like the deal for some reason, they have a right to say so…

          If you feel samfisher5986's comment is against the commenting rules, tell a mod to remove it… Otherwise they have just as much rights as you to express their opinion…

          @alastairmoore:
          Welcome to Ozbargain. Unfortunately you will find every bargain listed has people doing whatever they can to complain when they have no intent of buying. Very few are constructive unfortunately.

        • +4

          @jv:
          Hmmm cmon now voicing that they don't like something because of a picture or that a deal isn't tailored to them is a great opinion? Not exactly constructive feedback from them JV but sure ill be the scapegoat….

        • @alastairmoore:

          I don't believe you, there is a lot more evidence then when you joined, but it doesn't matter, I don't really care.

          @worthy1:

          Why are you being so defensive?

          This is ozbargain, I'm commenting on a bargain perspective to help other people make an informed decision.

          I don't care about anything but a bargain.

          Notice how nobody that has commented has positive voted this "bargain" yet you are complaining that I am stating what everyone else is acting on?

          If this was a bargain it should have around 15 positive votes so far and I could see that my opinion isn't shared by others.

          I am criticising a deal that isn't a bargain and specifically made a point that ozbargain isn't the place for businesses to post their weekly specials when there are 10 butchers locally that don't cost us shipping and are cheaper.

          If an ozbargain member wants to post this deal then that means that they specifically found their products and price useful, currently this is just business advertising that is not a bargain.

          @worthy1:

          Not exactly constructive feedback

          It's an opinion

          A bit like how alastairmoore above claimed these snags are better than the ones at Woolies without trying them…

        • +1

          @samfisher5986:

          No problem if you don't believe me. Not sure what other evidence you have but anyway, I'll not lose sleep over it.

          I'm not necessarily saying this is a bargain - it seems like a reasonable deal if it's as premium a meat as described on their website - almost 10kg of meat for $12/kg seems ok to me - but thought your criticism was misplaced given what you have to go on, which to be fair is not much. That said, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

        • +1

          @jv:

          Have you tried Woolies market value snags? Christ, there's more bread in them than meat. I think it's fair to say any snags are better than those Woolies snags.

        • @samfisher5986: >I'm commenting on a bargain perspective to help other people make an informed decision.

          No one was informed by your post claiming that you knew what meat was like from looking at thumbnails images.

        • +3

          @alastairmoore:

          Have you tried Woolies market value snags?

          Kids seem to prefer those and the Coles ones over the ones we get at various butchers…
          Also, there was a report on sausages some time last year that compared them all and the ones sold at butchers weren't that much better healthwise…

        • +1

          @Diji1:

          No one was informed by your post

          I was… That makes your comment false and misleading…

        • +1

          @alastairmoore:

          All meat places call their meat premium.

          The website has no nutritional information or ingredients on their products to help you make an informed decision.

          Its also very expensive, more expensive then higher end butchers.

          Also 10kg of meat for $12/kg is a horrible way to measure value.

          @alastairmoore:

          So you are comparing to woolworths sausages, but which ones? Why don't you ask your boss to post the ingredients so we can compare?

          @Diji1:

          I never made any claims to have tried the meat. The point here is you can't come in and say "you haven't tried this so its the best until you buy it" because most of the time its not good.

          @jv:

          Supermarkets have to stand by their products and put nutritional information and ingredients.

          Most butchers won't tell you what is in their sausages for fear that you will find out how much filler and other nasties they put inside.

          If I am buying sausages its from somewhere that tells me exactly what is inside.

          Its standard dodgy butcher talk to claim the supermarket sausages have brain in them but the butchers do not, but conveniently the butcher can't show you any evidence of what is in their sausages.

        • @jv: Yup. One of the budget lines came out on top, can't recall which one.

        • Just a reminder to all.

          Please don't accuse members of being shills. Use the report link (no one did). It's not exactly a welcoming environment for new members.

          Keep conversation to the deal and try to be respectful to each other.

          this neil guy must be associated with the company

        • +2

          I'm associated with the store and I can confirm this person isn't associated with our store.

          Everyone's opinions are valued here, however if you google Grass Fed Black Angus Beef, you'll understand why this is very different from your butchers or woolworths. Always good to research before you comment.

          Thanks!

        • +1

          @terminal2k: Have you noticed how neil rhymes with shill… not a coincidence

        • @worthy1:
          Agreed - but keep posting Op, I'm getting into better meats than colesworth can offer.
          Cmon folks. Can't tell quality by looking I'm afraid. Or by cut - I've had small farm rump steak better than colesworth eye fillet.

      • +1

        I loves me some woolie arsehole then ;) lol seriously they all put that shit in em, its still meat.

      • -1

        which is fine if you like brain, lips and arseholes being minced into your snags

        OK. And how about the supermarket Scotch Fillet that's half the price of yours still?

    • +5

      Wow you are actually comparing the meats based purely on pictures?

      You are very obviously a vegan/vegetarian as you have clearly never eaten meat to make such a statement. This is the only way to explain your post.

  • +3

    PLUS BONUS SCOTCH!

    Single malt or blended ???

  • +2

    Welcome to Ozbargain. Unfortunately for you it's like feeding strawberries to pigs for those that compared colesworth specials to a purveyor.

    • -1

      compared colesworth specials to a purveyor.

      So you're only here to perve ?

  • this deal is all about 'perceived' quality of a product.
    How does one judge a deal on the quality of a product without actually having experience with it?
    Basically you have to take the word of the vendor or other people who have used them.
    Has anyone who has ordered meat from them comment on their quality?

    It's basically like 'cleaning services' or 'wedding photography'..

    It makes it a difficult bargain to compare because all we are able to see are pictures and descriptions.
    We all know that pictures can be edited / professionally taken and descriptions positively written.

    • You are exactly right.

      I wrote "the meat doesn't seem any better quality then the usual places you can buy meat "

      And that is the perfect time for someone to come in and tell me that it is worth the large premium they are charging.

      Because without that its just normal meat, and that makes this not a bargain.

      • it can still seem a bargain if it is cheaper than their normal price. not to say their normal price is not inflated though.

        You might still be able to compare the product to a like product in the same niche - farm to consumer however you still don't know if you're comparing the same thing.

        in the end it's meat.

      • +2

        I will let you know once my delivery comes, unless of course i slip into a meat coma and die happy

    • +3

      I ordered from them before and was happy with the product as well as the delivery process. I gave my sister and her bf some sausages, steak and lamb. They all loved it!

      Our butcher has lost a few (not anymore) loyal customers :-)

  • +1

    The meat is good, I got a load of scotch fillet.
