Kitchenaid Pro Line Kettle $279.20 with Myer 20% OFF

Kitchenaid Pro Line Kettle - Cheapest Price so far

I've been eyeing this top of the range kettle for some time but shops hardly ever stock this and if they do, discount amount had been very little. With Myer's current promotion, after discount it is $279.20 includes free delivery in Australia.

Linky to the website product info:
https://kitchenaid.com.au/products/kek1522-kettles

Main features that set it apart from the other kettles:

  • Insulated, so outside of the kettle is not hot to touch even when boiling, and it retains heat longer, and more quiet when boiling water
  • Heat setting from 50 - 100 celcius
  • Build in thermometer so can accurately tell the water temp anytime

I don't really buy things from Myer as I find them expensive but this one I make an exception as I can never find good price on this kettle. I just ordered white one.

Details of Myer Promotion:
Spend $100 save 10%, or spend $150 save 15%, or spend $200 save 20% off the original price of selected small electrical kitchen appliances, microwaves, electrical personal care & floor and garment care

The best things in life are free
But you can give them to the birds and bees
    I want water (oh.. ooooiiiooooh)
    Boiled water (oh..ooooiiioooooh)
    That's what I want!

  • I dont know much about kettles, and it does seem pretty silly to pay so much for one, but I assume that it can help you boil certain coffee's at their optimum temp?

Any ozbargainer buying this should immediately surrender their account

    • I'll stick to a pot and stove over this kettle

    • See ya later OP.

  • Don't forget to read the reviews before you buy…

    • Do me a favour mate and read the review

      • -1

        read the review

        I did…

"it was made in China ? Blimey mates, someone is making serious coin out of these overpriced pieces of junk"

  • +2

It boils water into liquid gold

    • +7

For that price, it should be able to separate the Hydrogen & Oxygen…

      • should? I thought it would

        • If it can get to 2000 degrees, it could actually… and considering the quality of some of the Made in China stuff I've seen lately, it may well be an 'undocumented feature'.

YMMV, so check you're house in insured before attempting the split.

  • Who would spend that much on a kettle to begin with?

    • -1

just some people who think expensive thing make them look better, who need some kind of 'status' in their life. maybe rich, but poor essentially.

    $279.20 and no WiFi?

    • just lodged a patent for this, so I can boil water before I get out of bed ©

      • I'm pretty sure this already exists.

  • +2

What a way to legitimately negate any money you've ever saved by ozbargaining.

  • Heat setting from 50 - 100 celcius
    - I like my tea hot. I want a kettle that boils water at 101 degrees celsius. Oh well maybe version 2.

aldi one has the same features for $30. Although i am sure this would be nice next to someones $3000 thermomix.
    Does it do Paleo water?

I'd rather buy xiaomi smart kettle at a much cheaper price. it comes with Bluetooth and you control it over app!

    • That actually looks like a pretty cool product and about a third of the price. Thanks for mentioning

      • Wait was this guy serious?

        • Yes. Coffee is best brewed below boiling point and I imagine I could activate the boiling with IFTTT for a certain time each morning. Since my mornings are tight on time, to say the least, this would be worth an extra $60 to me, personally. Paying an extra $150, purely for the brand, is not my thing though. Everyone has different needs and values them differently.

        • @a22andrew:

          Okay I checked it out.

5 min to boil seems quite long.

Concerned about turning it on remotely if there isn't enough water in it. It does have dry boil protection but I'm guessing it needs to overheat before it kicks in.

        • @LoopyLou:

Yeah, good point. It would mean real diligence in keeping water in it. Length of time to boil is ok, to me. Is also loud, which doesn't bother me too much.

    • Can the Bluetooth fill the kettle with water?

  • Maybe the wood I collected in the park & skull I found in an unmarked grave uses to boil water can be replace with this. Then again I have 279 1/5 of a reason not to replace it.

    Hot deal!

    bought 3 thanks…

    • 3? Don't you have a hot water tap in your bat tub?

  • $300 for an f…ing kettle…

  • I hear this thing can do pythagoras

  • wow

Sure enough, all the "A Hyundai is better than a Lexus because it's cheaper and both are cars" OzB crowd are out in full voice…

  • They sell so expensive because they know someone only want buy expensive one. like those earbud selling for $4000 but cost less than $100 include $50 worth package.

  • On a serious note, this is not like a complete stupid waste of money because for me personally, being able to do 50 degree onwards is very useful as I don't always boil water and quite often I want to have warm water to drink straight away. No more guesstimate or mixing cold water to boiling water as I can just set to 50 or 60 and wait.

    • Don't waste your money on this then, get a bonavita pid controlled kettle if you actually have use for this functionality.
