Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro: Finger Print Scanner Not Working

Finger print scanner at the back of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro that I bought from Aliexpress last month, is not working. Contacted HK Dreami, the seller on Aliexpress and they sent this messege

Them: Have you the experience of flash Rom before ？We can send you the Rom and instruction of how to do it,would you willing to have a try ? Look forward to your reply. Regards.

Me: I do not have experience in flashing ROM, that is why I have requested to install the Global ROM.
What good flashing ROM will do, when I have the latest MIUI version installed?

What should I do now? I already have the latest global rom installed which have Play store and they installed it. Did I receive a used phone??

    It may not actually be the legit global rom. This is a known issue with vendor roms. You will need to flash the genuine global rom.

    So you are running V7.3.7.0.LHOMIDD ? If not I would flash that. It was easy to do, just make sure you have the newer flash tool.

      Yes, it's V7.3.7.0 (LHOMIDD). I messaged them this info as well.

    I don't have the phone, but have another Xiaomi phone, so I am just making a guess here.

    Make a "call" to:
    star,hash,star,hash,6484,hash,star,hash,star

    From there, you should be able to reset the fingerprint scanner

      It gives a menu. But there is no option for fingerprint scanner.
