Sydney Hotel for Sydney

We are looking for hotel accommodations in Sydney for the nights of September 23 and 24th. We were considering something like Travelodge on Wentworth Ave; Royal Exhibition hotel on Chalmers or something walkable from Central Railway.

We are an aged couple so would prefer accommodations with a lift and reasonable facilities - maybe even breakfast.

Would anyone have any suggestions as we still have two months to consider?

Thank-you.

  • Hi Kiribati,

Hope you're looking forward to your trip! Full disclosure, I work for Wotif.com, but travel to Sydney often and have stayed at many different hotels, so can provide some advice for you.

Are there any particular land marks you'd like to be close to? Do you need to be close to the CBD? I've stayed a few times at Quest Bondi Junction, it's very nice, large room and affordable. Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney, Harbourside is very good too.

Close to Central Station, I've stayed at Breakfree on George and Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney, Central, both quite comfortable, but being a little order sometimes, hit or miss.

Personally I prefer to find a cafe near by the hotel for breakfast. at the end of the day, you are paying for the breakfast in the room rate and you can get much better food and coffee for less.

Do you have a particular budget you're trying to keep under?

  • The Menzies is right above Wynyard station and on the Accor website they often have a free breakfast deal. It is on the city circle line, only two stops from Central but closer to most that Sydney has to offer (Pitt Street mall, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay area).

  • Breakfree on George.

  • Thank you everyone for your input which we very much appreciated. Especially having a breakfast included in the rates was very logical.

We have booked the Great Southern Hotel on George Street which will be close to Central Station and easily for us to get around. The price seemed reasonable too. Lots of places nearby to have breakfast and other meals.

    Thank you once more.
