OZBARGAIN

Hi fellow OzBargainers!

I have recently set up an online business selling Basketball Cards, and have set up a special discount code just for the OzBargain community. I've been a user for a while now, so thought it would be good to give something back to you.

I pride myself on having the best prices in Australia, so i'm confident that your $20 off will guarantee that you won't find cheaper.

I'd also welcome your (constructive!) comments on anything that you believe could be done better with the website.

Details:

  • $20 off all orders
  • Just enter the code OZBARGAIN at checkout
  • Discount code will only work once per customer
  • Deal ends next Sunday 31st July

Thanks,

Wilko

Do you buy old basketball cards?? I literally have albums and albums of cards from the 90's!

I'm sorry to tell you mate - your old 90's cards are probably worth very little now! Unless you have a Michael Jordan rookie card from the late 80's - then you're sitting on a gold mine!!!

This… YEARS, I sat on some cards for before unearthing them during a recent move… those, "Ima gonna keep these cards and sell them for BIG BANK cards" were worth 200 cents…it'd cost more to post them than what they're worth :/
        Lesson. Learnt.

        • Yep - I've got full sets from the 90's and i think the album they are in is probably worth more than the cards!

Nowadays every single box of cards (they are sold in boxes rather than packets now) holds many autographs, and even pieces of the player's uniform. Back in the 90's i was happy if i got a shiny version of a card.

      • Jordan's rookie year was 1984-85…
        Not quite the late eighties

But when is his most well known rookie card from? 1986-87. I'd consider that as late 80's.

        • Well that I wouldn't know, I assumed rookie cards occurred in their rookie season.

        • @trendkill: lol fail

          @nikym81:
          I dun goofed… Apparently

        • @trendkill: Haha! Your point was logical! It's just that the industry doesn't quite work that way!!

  • Why would you buy these cards if they are worth nothing?

    • Old 90's cards are worth nothing. New cards can be worth thousands.

      • At the peak of the 'fad' in the 90's, there were hundreds of thousands of cards being produced and shipped all over the world. That's why they aren't worth much any more.

Cards are far more limited now, which along with far more autographs and memorabilia within the cards, has significantly increased the value of cards produced in the last 10 years or so.

  • Thanks for everyone's support already! Very much appreciated!!

  • Finishing tonight!
