USB 3 to Ethernet connector

Hi all

I am in the market for a usb 3 to ethernet connector for my yoga 700. Quick ebay search brings up oodles of them as I would expect as does static ice but usually these things are not created equal.

Does anybody have one they can recommend that they use, wasn't overly expensive and performs well.

I would rather get a recommendation than take a random punt only to possibly end up disappointed.

    have you done a speed test of your internet connection? what are you getting?

      Not sure I follow. I want this for connecting to my switch at home to get faster transfer speeds on my lan when transferring large file.

      Basically yoga 700 2in1 connecting currently to ac66u via wireless but want to use my HP gig switch when needing to transfer large files. Despite all the improvements with wireless, cables still rule on occasion.

    Like everything else, there are lots of good sites with great info. I know it's a happy-day to get a direct assurance, but it's also good to be, "in-the-know"? Years ago, I bought one online for cheap— it seems okay, but no idea if something else would be a better speed/compatibility.

    I personally use the DLink DUB-1312 which sells for ~$50 at JB-HiFi.
    I had a friend who bought an eBay one. He gloated over his savings of the purchase until it died two weeks later.
    He promptly went to JB and took my recommendation…
    No connectivity issues or overheating.

    Has anyone tried these with spare USB ports too?

    If so, does it adversely impact speed?`
