I just bought the rode videomic me and I'm trying to use it with my galaxy s7. I plug it into the aux jack and try to record but there's no sound? Am I supposed to be doing something else to get it to work?

Well, looking it up it seems its an iPhone only product, little mention of use on any droids. Id check and see if it is the mic first, like hell0 said. it might just be your headphone jack, so id suggest recording with the headphones that came with the phone to see if the mic connector works.
It sounds a little odd. It may be worth trying it on a friends phone, even a iPhone to see if the mic may be faulty until someone comes up with a solution.
