lenses have very high resale value so if you spend $3000 on lenses and use for 2 years you can get $2400+ back
Except Sony's lens range is a bit slim, and I expect prices of the current lenses (used) will drop once the range (and third party makers' ranges) increase.
Not really, if you buy premium lenses. They hold their value very well (based on my experience with premium/expensive Nikon lenses)

upon release there was 10% off at some stores with Sony $200 cashback also so it was $3400 and that was November 2015
this would probably be the cheapest ever but if you got it in November you would have only paid a little more and have had 8 months usage
i saw one sell on gumtree for around $1500. the seller was some odd rich man.Odd rich man who'd just acquired a new camera, a bunch of jewellery, and an XBOne - but didn't have receipts for any of it?
he had a long running account and was selling some leica gear
i called him after it was sold and told him he could have sold it for double within hours and he did not seem bothered
therefore i call him an odd rich manif goods are stolen no one is going to check if he sells it for a legit price
