I was wondering if anyone had used Groupon travel deals and what your experiences were? Prices seem relatively cheap, but I'm wondering was it all smooth sailing and good value?

Went to Norfolk Island a couple of years ago for a week on a cheap Groupon, was fine. I got a code, and then booked with the place directly and dealt with them from that point forward. Was easy.
Bought a scoopon for a hotel in Bali. Had an extra 15% off and via cash back ended up about $200 cheaper than the cheapest price.
No dramas, even followed the advice on Trip Adviser and asked for a certain floor, they were happy to accomodate that request.
Booked with groupon 2 years ago for Baron Bay resort, all is as per description and service is good too.

i think it comes down to the travel provider itself not Groupon.
Search for reviews of the travel provider on Trip Advisor.
Wife bought an amazing eco island getaway. She crosschecked with TripAdvisor first and reviews were 5 star and many of them. Beat holiday so far! I'd still be careful as no doubt fledgling hotels would advertise there.
Bought a local snow holiday the other day, will see how it goes!
