Has anyone else been given a new coffee card at McDonald's only to discover it is for use only at the given outlet?
I was given one at the McDonalds I usually (but not always) visit near my work in Laverton VIC. I enjoy McDonald's coffee but would probably buy less if I was not able to use a universal card. I think this is so cheeky of the chain as it means that they would clearly hand out less freebies (I know they are not free, really) as most people visit outlets all over the city as they pass by. Are you supposed to hold onto 20 cards for each outlet? Pretty peeved!!

I have noticed this in terms of a coffee card being for "McDonalds Gold Coast restraunts". In my experience it can still be used everywhere/nobody checks.
Unfortunately, the card I was given has Laverton splashed all over it :( I will definately still try and use it elsewhere and see what happens.
See and this is where the store loses value/goodwill.
Part of the Maccas model is that someone can rock up to a Maccas anywhere and feel like they're getting the same great value/service.
The end consumer doesn't care that Laverton is owned by a franchisee and not corporate.
If they can't be consistent, than the consumer will consider heading elsewhere.

i have one that states certain stores only.
I hand it over at other stores not mentioned haven't been knocked back yet.Another reason why HJ is better. Hungry Jack's cards are nationwide
In my experience, they are not chekced anywhere and always punched. I also get a large latte for the free one all the time, and i think it says small on the actual card
It's a real disgrace what they're doing. Shame on them.
