Where to buy Freestanding Wood Heater for best price

Would anyone be able to recommend where I can purchase a cheapish freestanding woodheater? Preferably under $1500

  • Bunnings sell them under that price, but obviously you get a smaller wood-box (and smaller door), therefore less heating capacity.
    Have you factored in the cost of the flue? and the hearth?

    Heaters that make smoke should be banned

      why?

      • Pollution, smell.

          what type of heating would you recommend that doesn't do either of those things?

        • @oscargamer: Reverse Cycle Inverter Aircon, Gas

          @fruit:
          i am no expert, but electricity is generally 'dirty' (very dirty down here in VIC where they burn brown coal) and gas, i'm not sure….but it's definitely not green

          surely there is a place to burn wood as a heat source? (given electricity = coal = fossilised wood) and I think gas = old organic stuff that has rotted - as you can tell, i am no expert, but to say wood should not be burnt, is a bit narrow minded?

        • chances are your electricity comes from burning coal.
          same-same.

      Everything banned.

  • Not familiar with the Aussie market for burners but know enough to suggest you find out what a really good burner is rather then buying on price alone.

    I do know my sister has a Lady Kitchner by Firenzo.com.au though they may no longer sell that model in Aussie.

    She's in NZ and did lots of research on the topic including its clean burning abilities etc.

    I've visited and was amazed how warm her previously cold house is.

    Based on the thoroughness of her research and her happiness with the product, I'd suggest you give them a ring and find out what happened to their Lady Kitchener model.
