    sigh
stay away from Hills Science diet
it is neither super nor premium

eg Hills Science Diet Canine Adult Sensitive Stomach @ petstock 12kg $132 (you save 25%)
elsewhere online Hills Science Diet Canine Adult Sensitive Stomach 14kg for $117 (and free delivery)
So by shopping elsewhere you save $15 and get two kg more!

Secondly the ingredients in this super premium food
Brewers Rice, Whole Grain Corn, Corn Gluten Meal, Chicken By-Product Meal, Egg Product, Pork Fat, Chicken Liver Flavor, Flaxseed, Lactic Acid, Soybean Oil, Dried Beet Pulp, Oat Fiber

    1. Brewers rice (Brewers' rice is a milled rice kernel that is one quarter to half the size of a full kernel.) so cheaper than rice, and the top ingredient is a cheap filler

    2. Corn- cheap

    3. Corn gluten meal - another cheap filler
and why on earth, if your dog has a sensitive stomach would you be feeding it corn, and corn gluten

    4. chicken by product meal
(It is made from grinding clean, rendered parts of poultry carcasses and can contain bones, offal and undeveloped eggs, but only contains feathers that are unavoidable in the processing of the poultry parts)

Save your money and buy a better product eg Canidae/ black hawk grainfree/ wellness core/ Ivory Coat/ Stay Loyal etc
your dog will thank you for it

    • do you have any links to 'elsewhere online'?

      • try https://www.petcircle.com.au/product/hills-canine-adult-sens…

I would seriously question any vet who would recommend me this food

        • hmmm…… despite living within 20 mins of the CBD…….

My apologies. Unfortunately free shipping is not available to your area. Your delivery cost will depend on your location and the weight of your items. We are continually growing each day so we hope to have free shipping Australia wide in the future
Free delivery is only available to the immediate Adelaide area. If you have a work place or friends around the area you could get it delivered there for free

        • @andy19363:

          there's always mypetwarehouse
          and also try stayloyal

        • in fact, after checking, the 'Free shipping' policy is pretty restricted, particularly around Adelaide.

        • @docians:
Cheers…… (don't want to buy Hills BTW…. we use black hawk or the good stuff from costco)

        • @andy19363:

Costco does Kirkland Signature Nature's Domain
          any idea on pricing?

        • @docians:
Been a while since I've been, but I reckon it was around $60 for 15 (or could be 18) kg

    • Great advice. There are so many other pet foods out there that are better and more cost effective. This is very average pet food. When top ingredient is Brewer's rice, you know it's garbage.

    just as a comparison
if you buy Hills Science Diet Canine Adult Sensitive Stomach from petstock it costs you $11 per kilo

lets compare with a few of the brands I have mentioned

    1. Canidae Grain free pure sky; $9.20 per kilo
(Duck, duck meal, turkey meal, sweet potatoes, peas, chicken fat, potatoes, suncured alfalfa)

    2. Black hawk grain free $6.10 per kilo
(Chicken Meal, Chicken, Sweet Potato, Chicken Fat , Field Peas, Tapioca Starch, Natural Flavour, Whole Linseed)

    3. Ivory Coat $7.70 per kilo
(Turkey Meal, Duck Meal, Potatoes, Peas, Dried Turkey, Dried Duck, Pea Fiber, Tomato Pomace, Chicken Fat , Ground Flaxseed, Salmon Oil, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Kale, Broccoli, Spinach, Parsley, Apples, Blueberries

    4. Stay loyal Grain free $7.15 per kilo
(Chicken Meal, Lamb Meal, Chicken Fat , Potato, Tapioca, Peas, Beans, Natural Chicken Flavouring, Sugar Beet Pulp, Fish Meal, Marine Fish Oil)

    better prices for better food
none of the cheap filler nonsense

  • Can anyone recommend dry dog food with large kibbles? The small food kibbles of Black Hawk means multiple dental cleaning a year for my Jack Russell.
Science Diet Oral Care seems to be working but I'm looking for better quality alternatives

      Might have some info…..

    • I am currently feeding my puppy Black Hawk and Wellness Core. The Wellness stuff is easily 5x as large as the Black Hawk stuff. He doesn’t like Wellness as much, but that will vary dog to dog of course.
Feed your dog some raw chicken necks from time to time to help clean teeth.
