Microsoft Windows 10 Home Full Version 32bit/64bit USB Flash Drive KW9-00017 1PC for $135.20 Delivered @ FUTU Online eBay

Been a lurker for a long time. This is my first post for a deal, sorry if I didn't post this correctly.

I have been waiting for a good discount to buy a retail copy of Windows 10 from a reliable store such as JB Hifi, Officeworks etc. None of them really provides a discount. I don't really trust an OEM or MSDN ones (personal opinion). Tho they are pretty cheap. FUTU Online is quite reliable. 20% eBay discount brings price down to $135.20 from $169.00. A further 1.25% cash back through Cashrewards.

I pretty sure this is not the lowest price, but the price is good enough for me.

Everyday price $139.00 MSY, so a few bucks cheaper

Windows 8.1 Retail can still be bought from BudgetPC or IJK for $119, with free Windows 10 upgrade (for another week)

It is only free if you have a qualifying licence of Windows already….

      • It's cheaper to buy a qualifying licence and upgrade for free

      • Or if you join the insider program

        • The cost of the time machine to go back 12 months and do that makes it unviable.

        • @dazweeja: Are you saying you can't do this anymore?

        • @jazoom:

Practically you can but it's not legal unless you own a genuine license. That didn't matter before Windows 10 was released but it does now. Microsoft have been getting more and more explicit about reminding people:

For anyone that has a spare Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 key lying around, it can also be used to activate a windows 10 installation.

Be sure to use the key before the end of Jul 29.

Windows 10 is free till the 29th of July if you have Windows 7 or Windows 8. Upgrade to Win10, then downgrade back to Windows 7 will lock in the free upgrade for life.
Windows 7 is the new XP keeper.

Even if you don't have a PC with windows 7 or 8 you can get retail windows 7 licences for less than $50 easy.
Also I refuse to believe microsoft is going to make people pay for windows indefinitely into the future, they're so desperate to get people on the platform for free they're turning the upgrade into pseudo-malware, it seems unlikely to me that they will risk the inevitable slowdown in windows 10 adoption that will follow it not being free.
My guess is they're keeping the deadline to see if they can't scare anyone to upgrade, then they'll keep their promise for a few months then bring back the deal "by popular demand" for another limited time or just drop the whole paper thin facade at that point.

No offence, I tried to get windows 7 for windows 10 upgrade. The price is either too good to be true (probably VLK), or too expensive (almost the same price of windows 10) to buy.

You're probably right. If they couldn't get people to upgrade even for free, I doubt anyone's paying $100 for the privilege.

But extending it isn't going to get people to upgrade either if they didn't already want to. They had a year to do it.

They'll probably come up with some new plan to entice people. They will sweeten the deal even further perhaps.

        • @lostn i'm personally hoping they will move Windows 10 to a subscription model where you can bundle XBOX Live, Windows 10, Office 365 & Zune Music as one monthly fee. It would be sweet.

        • @Agret: That would cost more in the long run, this being the last version of Windows and all. You'll be paying that monthly fee for the rest of your life.

        • Subscription models suck I'm still on office 2010 and don't see much reason to upgrade, and lack of people upgrading is what drives them wanting subscriptions……office 365…..keep asking if I want to upgrade and pay and pay.

        • @Agret:

Windows 10 to a subscription model

There's nothing they'd love more. Give it time.

        • @garage sale: I use it on multiple devices which I couldn't do previously with my office 2010. I have a laptop, tablet and desktop running office and I also put the 2 other copies on my girlfriends laptop and her sisters. From office 2013 to office 2016 was just included in the subscription, don't have to buy each new version as it comes out to stay up to date :)

Fantastic, now buy a legit one! :D

I truely hope your key will last as long as you wished. I am quite skeptical about the source of the keys. They may be from VLK, legit copies of purchases from stolen credit cards. It also can be some IT guys selling their own company's keys to public. A lot of websites say the keys from reddit or kinguin are questionable. I don't know but I guess the price you paid is just fine. The higher risk the key is, the lower price you pay.

    • Interesting seller. Hope it is legit.

I have read comments somewhere before that initially it worked for them then after a few months the license expired. In Ebay, I have asked one seller how he got the license and never got a reply. They probably get it from MSDN license or some bulk pc license they bought but only activated one license.

    • Enjoy having to rebuy it after a few months!

  • That is legit!

  • Never ever had a problem with cheap key sites. Been buying them past 8 years, e.g. win 7,8.1, etc. Just buy from cheap key site that's established.

  • Warning with Windows 10 Upgrades vs Buying a key.

If you significantly change your hardware, usually a motherboard upgrade, Microsoft may terminate your upgrade key.

Where you can continually reactivate a purchased win 10 key, the upgrades may never activate on another hardware configuration.

    • This is a very valid concern…I picked up a Windows 10 key from my university just in case I do a rebuild on my rig and need to activate again (thinking of upgrading my AMD Phenom II to Skylake, but secretly hoping to hold off until Cannonlake).

    • my PC's on windows 10 free upgraded from windows 8, which was upgraded from an OEM copy of windows 7 many many years ago. never bought a retail key.
I just upgraded motherboard, CPU and RAM, Did not activate after. BUT I just called Microsoft and they activated for me over the phone, no questions asked.
I think MS is pretty loose with the activations as long as you got a legit key of some kind. I even run another PC off that original OEM windows 7 Key at the same time and it was activated by them over the phone.

      • Same use the windows family pack upgrade edition to reinstall the OS on a PC I had to change the motherboard on. Just called them and told them the motherboard got replaced under warranty and windows wouldn't register the key. They just activated it over the phone.

OEM or upgrade edition are tied to main PC they are installed on.
So even with a full retail editions upgraded to free windows 10 it won'tretain license conditions. like Windows 7, allowing for any hardware upgrades or transfer to new pc after July 29th?
