Olympus Stylus TG-Tracker Action Camera Green/Black $410 Delivered @ Ted's Cameras eBay

100
CTEC20

Found this deal that hasn't had its price jacked up atleast.

Can be found around eBay for ~$460 but with ridiculous postage from overseas. Next cheapest place I could find it was $499 at JB Hifi. Pair it with a Sandisk Ultra 128GB for a ~$460 from PCByte eBay deal.

Black TG-Tracker can be found here:

Reviews say they're pretty good. It's main advantage over other cameras are the sensors packed into the camera: Thermometer, Barometer, Altimeter, Accelerometer and GPS means it'll track your location, speed (vertical and horizontal), etc. It'll even do this if you want without video recording so just want to know how fast you were snowboarding down the hill but don't care about the video, it can do that and save alot of battery in doing so.

It can also detect sudden changes in movement and will automatically add a 'chapter' for its video editing software to find so you know where all the fun bits are. Sensors also allow it to detect when it's underwater so it automatically changes to underwater mode (white balance, video size).

if you intend to use this one underwater, be very careful around the beach. Olympus refused to fix my Tough camera, citing sand damage, what a joke!

    • Fair enough, I had an old TG 820 (I think it was) 6 years ago that died from being used too much at Hot Springs. The rubber seals became brittle from hot->cold->hot->etc.

And most devices say not to use around saltwater anyway but most reviews say it is ok provided it is rinsed and cleaned very well afterwards.

I'd still much prefer the slimmer form factor of this compared to another camera inside an external case. Even though this is only rated to 30m whereas the other ones that go inside a case can be rated to 40-60m underwater.
