I was Looking for a budget TV, and found this one yesterday. It's only $100 more expensive than the refurbished one, but you get 3 years warranty and no scratches.
The reputation of Soniq is not very good, but the price is quite good.

What's the chances of an Android update?
Is the same deal as this post that comes up as expired yesterday (I think expired as they changed the link so it didn't work anymore so assumed expired)
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/255430No, that's U65VX15A without 3D
I bought the vx. Took jb hifi 12 days to get it 150km. Was dead out of the box. Not happy at all. Jb staff said its a 50/50 chance and they get 3-4 warrantees PER DAY!!!
Are any of these Hisense/Soniq displays ever good for playing games or should I give up on that hope?
Bought a cheap ALDI 4K for $450 or so to replace my desktop monitor and hookup my PS4 and it was absolutely terrible. Returned then went to JB and bought a Soniq 4K and difference was noticeably better with better refresh rate but still not good and lack of 4:4:4 chroma. Went to a mates house and connected my Mac to his 4K 2013 Samsung and man it was beautiful. Refresh rate was great for games and 4:4:4 Chroma was there. His TV cost $3k though. Cheap Soniq/Bauhn/Kogan 4K sets are usually only good for displaying static content like movies and photos. For anything more than that look elsewhere and save yourself the hassle of buying and returning. Sometimes you get a bargain but most of the time you get what you pay for.
Probably should have waited for this 3D model but I am quiet happy with my VX - don't play games though.
I bought this TV with $1299 in JB HiFi last month. It works well. The picture is clear. PC function and 3D function is good, with 4 free 3D glasses. But smartTV function is a bit weak.
Same price directly from Soniq
(quoting $130 delivery to WA)
