ahoy hoy, i want to connect a camera to a HTPCP to make it a home security camera. i am thinking the cheapest/easiest device to do this is a webcam. can anyone recommend me a cheap brand webcam for the task? want at least 720, preferably 1080. thanks for your help!

start with one of the $10 webcams from KMart or an old phone's camera even.
Are you going to run any software apart from embedding it into a webpage??
Problem I had trying this was my webcam wasn't wide angle, so instead of seeing whole room you would just see tiny bit.
