Free Bicycle Service (Normally $35), Saturday July 16 @ Bikes Please (Brunswick East, VIC)

260

Bikes Please is offering a free bike service this Saturday July 16. I believe this normally costs $35. From their Facebook event:

The Service will covers the basics, making sure your bike is safe and reliable. Includes Brakes, Gears, Lube & Air.
Also if there are any minor issues like rattles and squeaks or you're missing a simple bolt, no problem. We'll just do it.

I've been to this place once but unfortunately they couldn't service my bike which has an internal hub. However, they were nice enough to recommend the bike shop a block away which did. Also they are located at the back of Small Block which is a great breakfast/lunch place. There are a multitude of Pokestops surrounding the shop if you need something to do while waiting. EDIT: Get a Free Coffee @ Double Dutch nearby.

    "Includes Brakes, Gears, Lube & Air."
    ….or spend 10 minutes watching youtube clips and learn how to do it yourself

    • eh its free

      • bikes need regular maintenance …..may as well learn now if you need it. also youll do a better job of it than a 'free' service from a bike shop. lube is cheap air is free so no real value here unless you are totally mechanically inept or lack the most basic consumables like a bottle of lube & a pump

        • when jv uses lube i bet its not hot air.

          @Garagesale:
          JV seems a sweet, intelligent and tenacious person, I wonder why people pick on her so much? No offense to you, as lots seem to do it. I value dozens of regulars input and hope JV stays and keeps it real!

          yeah diy is the way to go for routine stuff…… the idea of dropping off a bike and walking then come back to pickup isn't appealing …… you also want your bike to ride nice when you leave home . though adjusting the gears is the hard bit.
